Ok guys I sold my old tractor back in the fall. Since it was sold to a friend of a friend and He and I were both busy doing other things at the time we never wrote a bill of sale. Now he wants one for tax reasons. Can't say I blame him, I just don't know what to include.

Anyway this is what I had in mind, tell me, is there anything you would add??

Make... John Deere
Model...2355
VIN #...XXXXXXXX
Details...4x4, open station, canopy
Price...$XXXXXXX USD, paid in full, check #XXXXXX
Tractor sold as is / where is with no warranties whatsoever.

Seller....Sign, Print

Buyer....Sign, Print

Ownership transferred in full... Date

Looks like a good bill to sale to me. Might want to put the seller & buyer's address on there.

Only a suggestion. The both of you should sign your names in the presence of a Notary Public and have them put their Stamped Seal on the Bill Of Sale. The same suggestion goes for transferring titles. I was confronted with the advantages of taking these measures less than a year ago here in NC in reference to a utility trailer that I bought.

We have bought and sold with something like that, nothing wrong with a notary, we just never used one.

Attached is a copy of the bill of sale that I use. I put the pictures on it so that there is no question as to what is being sold.

Looks like you've got it covered. You might add a picture but if its a friend I probably wouldn't bother.

Looks good:thumbsup:. I use one that's similar. It includes spaces for the Buyer and Sellers driver's license numbers. Always good to check a picture ID of someone who's signing your BoS.

All of the suggestions are great ones and I have a further thought. Think of you as the buyer or a buyer of a used Tractor. Tractors have no titles and are often stolen unfortunately. If I were to purchase from a private party a tractor that does not have a state title, then I would not limit the language to no warrantee what so ever rather I would require that the Seller is the rightful owner and that title is warranteed and that the tractor is transferred free and clear of any and all liens or encounbrances.

Just trying to point out both sides of a fair deal. This will allow the Buyer to sell it again and provide "clean title".

I always add the miles or hours if applicable.
