I have had this big wheel mower for a couple years and it works great BUT I spent as much time changing the plastic line as I did trimming.
Saturday I found heavy duty line made by Oregon and bought a roll. I just tried it out and it WORKS GREAT!!!
I had to put a 1/4" carriage bolt (with a nut on top and bottom) in front of the attaching loop because the line is too stiff to attach with a knot like you are supposed to. With the bolt I can put it together and thread both ends through the loop.
The line you see in the pics is what is still on the machine after about 25 minutes trimming about 75' of chain link fence, 6 trees and around some concrete rubble cutting up to 3/8" saplings too. (my first time trimming these areas this year)
I am not associated with this product in any way, just a VERY HAPPY user!!

I've got a big Stihl FS145 and I spend more time bumping with the "bump 'n go" head than going. I will definitely look into this stuff. The last picture - the roll - is that a solid strand of wire in the center of the line??

The line is square and has a wire inside.
I hit some concrete rubble and the line was cutting into the concrete!!
It comes in different sizes too.
I bought it at a Flea Market Lawnmower Supplies booth but when I googled it the price is almost the same at the usual places.

Thanks for the recommendation. Going to give it a try. Ordered "Oregon 69-200 Super-Twist Magnum Gatorline String Trimmer Line .095-Inch Diameter x 50-Foot Donut" from Amazon for my John Deere weed eater. The orange string from Lowes is okay for normal weeds but can't handle briars or chain link fences.

wire inside ay? hhmsss... have a push weedeater as well, that takes that larger line size. i generally buy a hard case of weed eater string, and then pull it all out and cut it to length, and then put all the cut lengths back into the hard casing, and then wire the hard casing to the handle of the push weed eater. so i have everything ready to swap strings out.

fence lines *arghs* larger diameter weeds *arghs* thick patches of weeds *arghs*

I would have changed the plastic line 6-8 times in the distance I cut today and would have taken 3 times as long with the changing!
Now if they would make it so I didn't itch after using a trimmer.
I've got a lot more weeds to trim but it was only 90* today. I'll have to wait for it to cool off some.
