Big Tex Craigslist ads

Is it just my extened area that see this crap on CL? I have been searching for another trailer for a while and these ads always get me. Its just a jumbled up mess. Are you guys in different parts of the country seeing this? FWIW the Big Tex trailers seem over priced compared to a few of the more "local" manufactures.

What am I missing?

Don't have those ads here, but do have a couple trailer dealers that carry the BigTex brand. Actually I have a small skidsteer trailer made by them. They are some of the most overbuilt trailers you can get your hands on. Many of the other trailer makers here use mostly angle iron and C-Channel for the majority of their trailer builds whereas the BigTex branded trailers are mostly heavy gauge square and round tube construction. One of the big dealers here told me the BigTex trailers are made for commercial duty whereas many other trailers wouldn't last half as long with the day to day beatings of commercial use.

Big Tex builds lightweight angle iron trailers, too. I've got one.

Definitely not trying to argue, but I don’t remember seeing any tube any BT trailers; assuming you meant the cross members. The only ones with a torque tubes are the 28'+ trailers I believe. In my search for the right trailer in dealing with both goosenecks and BPs I haven't seen anything outstanding.

I do like the looks of the GoBobPipe trailers though. Seem to be well thought out.

Lots of BigTex ads in CL here in Central Texas. Maybe they added CL to their marketing strategy?

I looked at the BigTex, but went with a Diamond C Diamond C Trailers | See The Difference with a 3 year warranty.

I am fortunate enough to have a local trailer maker that is priced right and holds up well. Lots of competitors with junk trying to undercut them on price, but locals like the local business.

Are you close to Better Built trailer in Double Springs AL? They make a decent trailer. Several people up here own them, and they have a pretty good reputation.

These adds drive me nuts here in Florida. If you are searching for a trailer, you get 1 used trailer, and 50 of these adds.....

Yes, I am not too far from there. I am not too familiar with Better Built, but Lawrimore is really close and is a decent trailer. Their paint has something to be desired IMO.

I'm in the market for another trailer myself. I've been looking at 25' goosenecks, and the Big Tex trailers don't seem overly built compared to some of the others I've looked at. They gave me the impression of kind of being rushed through production and not as well done as some of the others.

I had a trailer built by Better Built. It was a good trailer. Don't know if they still do it, but at 1 time they would build to your specs

The ad is correctly placed in the "- by dealer" section. If you only want to see used trailers, search in "- by owner" instead of "all for sale". See this link: huntsville / decatur all for sale - by owner classifieds - craigslist


If you see dealer ads in "- by owner", and there are sometimes a lot of them, be sure to flag them as "miscategorized" so CL can take them down.

Yes, they will. I had one built for me this spring. The paint is not too bad, and structurally it's built pretty good. ALL the welds are nice, and it trailers down the road straight as an arrow.

I had my trailer built by Lawrimore. Not only were they pretty good trailers, Mike Lawrimore built mine with a 52" tongue like I wanted; no one else would.

Now, if only Scout hadn't chewed on all the wiring.....
