Loaded my Argo to go ice fishing and when I got to the lake one of the trailer ramps that store under the deck was gone. Trying to find out if this is a common occurance with this type of ramp storage. Nice trailer otherwise and will carry pretty much anything I have plus my BX5D with room to spare.
Anyone with this type of trailer ever lose a ramp?

Many trailers with ramps that store have a hole drilled in the ramp edge and a hole in the carrier edge. Insert pin or bolt and nut of your choice. Aint gonna slide out unless ripped off by someone.

Yes this trailer uses a pin to hold the ramp in place. I’m second guessing if I put the pin in place before I left. I called the place where I buy my trailers and the owner said this happens but rarely. A replacement is $100.00!so until it comes time to sell the trailer I ill keep using the aluminum ones I have.

I’ve lost a trailer ramp but I was being lazy and only tossed it on the trailer deck. I’ve never had one come out of the holder. In general I hate the design. I may convert them to foldable.

That’s a great idea. I would consider doing that too...easier all around and can’t get lost.
I could get longer ramps too as the ones that stow under are pretty short.

I called my trailer guy and asked him about converting the ramps to permanently attached ones and he said I was “looking at a $1000 fabrication job”
No thanks....I’ll just use my aluminum ones.

It wouldn’t be that hard if you own a welder. If I ever get around to it it would be a 2 hour weld job plus some steel. I really doubt a fab shop would charge $1000 either.

Yes probably but I don’t weld and he is most likely trying to “sell” this as a lot of work. I’m sure someone that welds could fab something that would work but might not look “factory”
Then again, there are talented welders out there that can do amazing stuff. I won’t be looking for that person.
