So another Rotary Cutter thread, but not really about size or any of that. I want/need a medium duty (rated at 3") cutter to clean up some woods and do some general tasks. I don't plan to cut much that is 3" and most likely not much over 2", but I want over built since I plan to have it for a long time. I will be backing into a lot of my brush if that matters.
I have always like Woods and the BB720X has always been on the short list. I also think Bush Hog Brand is good quality so really don't have an issue with either from that perspective. I don't want to wait 30 days or more to get one by ordering so here are my options.
BH26 - New, but last years model. Front Chains, rear band. $3150 - $400 too add rear chains which is crazy.
BH316 - New, Front Chains, rear band - $3600
BB720X - New, Double rear wheels, Chains front and Back - $3990
BB72.50 - New Model from Woods, 30 day wait, Chains Front and Back, but round stump jumper is extra (Diamond standard). - $3700
I am having a hard time convincing myself the BH26 for $800 less than the BB720X is not the way to go, but I also am a fan of the idea of dual tail wheels.
I have a 12' batwing for mowing fields so that isn't a concern.
What say you?
