Kubota/ B7500/with 2000 lb winch
I'm still thinking about a BH for my B7500. Will the B7500 dig well in hard soil like say "Your backyard"? I know the B7500 has 21hp but is that enough to handle a BH? I don't want to start digging with it and have to listen to the tractor grunt and strain. I understand that it will not perform like a big tractor with a BH but I would like it to do well. Does anyone have any pictures of a "B7500" with a BH and it's performance while working??????????

Don,

I have the 7500 woods BH, which runs off a PTO pump and mounts to the 3PH. I have the 2910, but In my opinion, it takes very little effort (HP) to get good power and results from the BH. I have found that engine speed does more for making the BH move faster, than giving it much more power. My 16" bucket will dig very well in solid ground, unless you encounter the immovable rock, or heavy tree root, so I'm sure your 7500 will serve up plenty of power. Looking at the size of the 7500, and weight, if you get something like a Woods 6500, or Kubota equiv, you'll be able to toss your tractor around pretty hard. The sub frame is probably wise, and most likely required. You'll wonder how you ever got along with out one!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don,
I have the 4672 BH. Power is not an issue with the B7500. The engine doesn't even whimper when it's under a load. In fact the issue is more that the BH will walk the tractor around if you're not careful. I have used mine to remove some large stumps and have dug in concrete like hard pan and it has performed just fine for me. I looked through my pictures and found one of a cluster of stumps that I was in the process of digging out.

Hope this helps,
Greg

Don,
I also own a 7500 with a Woods 6500, subframe mount, which runs off the tractors hydraulics. For the size of the tractor and hoe I believe they work well. I like to load up the FEL with rock, it keeps the tractor from "walking". The BH set up was $6000 when I bought the tractor, expensive yes, but well worth it.

Don - I have a Woods BH7500 and concur that it has plenty of grunt and digging ability to work with even the hardest soils and even does a fair job of breaking up shale.

I have an L3010 and it is mounted on the 3pt and seems to work fine. I put the FEL bucket down crowded all the way back and lift the front tires off the ground. The BH stabilizers lift the rear wheels off the ground as well. Unless I do this, the backhoe will drag the tractor toward the trench.

One modification I made to my backhoe is that I ordered a bigger EATON pump that flowed about 25% more fluid. The first pump seals wore out due to a PTO coupling that was not bored correctly and the pump experienced being spun at PTO speed with about .020" runout on the coupling. When I bought a new seal kit at the hydraulics distributor, the dealer had a higher capacity EATON pump that he sold me and this is what I re-installed while I am working on rebuilding the first pump.

Bottom line - the Woods backhoe is a great unit - I just ordered an 8" bucket for doing some french drains (to keep the drain rock consumption down) . . . with the bigger pump - I can run the motor at about 1200 rpm and have all the speed I want and the motor doesn't even grunt.

Greg, Who makes the 4672BH ? What all BH's will fit the B7500? ,and what are the price ranges? Thanks for all the info. What size bucket would be good to get ? Donny /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Don,
Kubota makes the 4672. It's a 3pt. mount, pto driven hydraulics. I have the 12" bucket. There are times I'd like it smaller and times I'd like it bigger... So I guess the 12" is a good compromise for me. I have no idea about current prices and I bought mine with my tractor, so I really couldn't tell you exactly what I paid. (2 years ago) I think they are running somewhere between 5-6k.
