BH for BX1870

I believe you have to go aftermarket for that machine as Kubota does not make anything for it. Check WOODS smallest hoes as their products are very well made.

is there a BH for or that will work on a BX1870?

I had a Woods Groundbreaker on my previous BX 2200. It worked well, although I do slightly prefer the Kubota version on my current BX25. Don't know if they offer a kit for the BX1870 but if they do be prepared for $6 to $7k.

I was told that, same with my BX1860, the subframes are too light. You'd need to strenghen the entire subframe to safely operate a back hoe. You should consider the smallest BX with back hoe option, it'd be more economical.

It will probably be cheaper to sell/trade your BX1870 to a BX25 which is Kubotas SCUT made for/with a BH. Maybe find a near new BX25 and you may come out OK.

That is a good point - Most machines designed for a hoe have better longevity and durability. Plus the extra HP will help haul that extra weight around.

I really dont have a need for one, just wounded if there was one out there in case i would ever want one. I think it would be nice to have bought the 25D instead of my 1870 but it was 7-8 grand more and i only have 3/4 Acre yard real residential, I kind of think the BX1870 is a bit over kill for me but i like having toys. I cant seem to find enough things to do with it, I rolled the yard twice, I don't want ti kill the grass LOL. Tell me what a box blade is for? and how you use it? I was thinking it would be good to restore my relatives long stone driveway after a hard winter of snow plowing.

If you have any weight in your FEL you NEED counter weight in/on the back of the tractor which 1st off the BB will provide if you don't even do any thing else with it. It has teeth which can be lowered all together or one at a time or some raised so high they don't cut. With teeth you can drop it and dig dirt/gravel. It has a flat front on the bottom and a blade across the back on the bottom. The front or back can level depending on how far the BB is dropped and angle adjusted by upper arm with determine if front or back or both are leveling the dirt/gravel. Extra weight can be placed on the top of the BB if more weight is needed for different reasons. Also the BB can trap dirt in between the front and back and then drop it in lower spots, cut high down and drop into lower holes. The BB is one of the most usable/versatile implements available. With a FEL and BB you have a very versatile tractor. The FEL is first choice and then a BB, RatchetRake, tiller, post hole digger are usable implements and of course the BH with a bunch of extra cash. Some implements are very specific to certain jobs so they aren't bought by many people, like Post hole diggers and tillers where some can do two or three or more different jobs, like the BB.
Quick attachs that go on the 3ph arms are helpful for someone working alone. Researhc on ebay tractor quick attach as well as Pats and then specific fixed quick attach itmes. I prefer the attach to the 3ph arm for versatility like the Pats and ones on ebay.

I went down this road 3 years ago when I looked into getting a Woods BH6000 (IIRC) BH for my old BX1860. Ended up trading up to a BX25. I started a thread on it here back then if you want to search for it. Long story short is that Woods didn't list my BX1860 as compatible even thought I knew 99.9% it was (I think they listed the BX1850 as compatible). Found a good price on e-bay from a place in Michigan Woods dealer, I believe. I recall it running a little over $4K back then with shipping and the optional thumb.
