I bought the HF version of a Cat 1 3 pt quick hitch becasue it seemed rugged enough and was priced right. Part #93691. But I had to return it. The ASAE spec calls for 27 1/2 " spacing between the lift arms. The HF packaging says 27 1/2". The actual hitch is 26 3/4", at least on the two we measured at the store. My Howe rotary cutter is 26 7/8" wide, so no go. If you're tempted, ;use your tape measure first. You might save some hassle.

regards,
Leon

Those of us that got the early models just spread the arms with a jack. They have since rectified the problems on the newer ones. No problems with mine.

Have had mine for a little over a month and never gave it a second thought about fitting as it went on without any problems. Same can be said for the one I mounted on my BIL's Kubota L305.

They now sell them in the HF retail stores. If possible, measure before you buy.

Mine met specs and works perfectly.

I just picked up one at a local store and it went on my 3point with out any problem. It will not fit my scoop due to lack of clearence between the frame and the pins. It will not fit the top link on my 5' Howse shreader with out the adapter which they say is not available any more. Trying to get TSC to order one from Speeco. As I was leaving TSC I discovered they had a company branded quick hitch for $206.00 that had the adapter included. Need to find out where they got that adapter from.

Responding to a couple of points I've noticed in this thread:

1) ASAE Standard for an an implement that will be used with an ASAE-compliant Quick Hitch:

"The distance between the inner portions of the two lower hitch pins must be between 26.81 and 26.94 inches."

Source: LSU Ag Center

From what I've been reading here, the HF supplier has gotten better on his dimensions and they are all coming through at 26 3/4 inside width now.

2) The HF adapter doesn't appear in an online listing, but is available by phone.
To place a Phone Order 805-388-3000. I ordered 10/9 and received it 10/17.
Ask for Item #29309, Description "93691 Hitch Adapter (Optional)". Total cost with shipping, $16.43.

I suggest try that phone number before paying $120 more for a house-brand that provides the adapter. It appears all the generic brands are identical.
