Once again this evening I was reminded how lucky I am to have my wife Charlotte.

She encouraged me to buy a new Kubota B7510HSD to replace the old Kubota B7100 because she knew how much I wanted a new tractor with power steering.

This evening while I was at the computer she called me into the bedroom to watch the antique tractor pull on RFDTV.

She never complains when I come in with dirt and grease on my clothes from being out on the tractor, just says "Don't worry, I can get that grease out".

We were in Wal Mart this morning and I was griping about the price of a new Levi jacket. I told her I hated to pay the price for Levi's (which I think are overpriced) and she said I should go ahead and get it because if I didn't she would go back later and buy it for me.

I am truly blessed to have such a great wife! Have I got it made or what?

BTW, for those of you who have Dish Network, RFDTV has some great shows about farming and tractors.

Bill, More power to you. I too have a wife that is unbelievable. We have been working on this barn project of ours for years. We finally got someone that could help us out because I was working and just didn't have the time to do the job. Last september I told her that I should quit my job and help this guy get the barn done once and for all. She agreed and has been supporting me financially ever since. The barn is almsot done now. The old farmhouse restoration is next and she has agreed to let me do this over also. When the house is all done I will need to go find a job and start making some real money. We did decide that it would be better for me to do the work than to earn xx amount of dollars at a real job than to pay someone xxxx dollars to do the job. We feel that we are saving 100% on the deal. She has bought me all the tools that I have wanted and needed to work on the house and barn. I truly could not live without this sweetheart. I must be doing something right.

I have a couple of theories on wives. The first is that everyone should have one. Especially wives. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The logic on that is I hear a lot more complaining about husbands than I do about wives. Of course if we all had a husband we might become a better one ourself. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another thing I've noticed about the better wives, they seem to have good husbands. That's one of those chicken and egg things where one has to wonder which comes first.

I'm a big fan of long term monogamy. It's really quite selfish on my part. There's something wonderful about knowing the person that knows you best loves you the most.

So congradulations guys. I recognise the boat you're in. Mine also has two people rowing, going twice as far, with half the effort. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Some people knock RFDTV for the reruns and thats fine if someone else was broadcasting the shows even once.

My boy loves trains and no one else airs the train shows.

BTW, My wife bought me beer and made me chili just in time to watch the game Sunday. She scored points big time.

I wonder what she wants.....

I've got a great wife, too. It took me until I was 39 to find her, and I went through a lot of lesser quality women until I found her. Boy I'm glad I waited and didn't settle for less. Most everyone I know from growing up married their highschool sweethearts and were divorced in less than 10 years with kids they either share or don't see. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Nope, I wouldn't trade mine either. I don't know what I'd do without her. Still, if someone offered a JD6420 with cab, heater, A/C, FEL with grapple or 4-1 bucket and a 15' Servis flex wing mower, I'd give it some serious consideration. Nah, just joking. Besides she may read this post. Luvya babe.

My wife is pretty decent too - never complains about tractors, tools, motorcycles or guns.

I agree Bill; my youngest son and I watch it frequently (when we're not out on the tractors).

Me too Harv; working on our 26th year of marriage at present. I'm sure lots of others have done more than that and my hat is off to them. My mom and dad are still married after 60 years. I didn't even realize there was such a thing as divorce until I was in junior high.

Well, I have to do some braggin here also.. She chased me till I caught her.. Married in Nov. for 38 years. I had been looking at the Mahindra 2015 for about a month setting at the dealer. One day she says, lets go have a look, before I knew it, she had bought it with a nice log splitter and FEL and said; Merry Christmas, happy anniversary, happy birthday and every other gift giving day for the rest of your life... well, I think she is pretty special also... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif John
