Best way to install Grapple

Hello,

I am in the process of ordering a LD48 grapple from miproductsgroup.
I own a Kubota L3430 with a LA513 loader. Kubota does not make a 3rd function valve for this loader. Would it be better to use a valve from WR long or just plumb from the rear hydraulics? This is my first tractor to own and I would appreciate some input on how you guys would rig this. I have about 15 acres to clear and need to maintain some roads on my property.

There are guys on the board who have it both ways and they are happy with their set up. Assuming the grapple is ready to receive hoses, IMO, the best way is to get a WR LONG 3rd function valve add the switch to your joystick. The easiest way is to use the rear remotes. It becomes a matter of preference operating the grapple with the rear remote valve and longer hoses, or the joystick with one hand. Both will work though.

Couple things to think about.
With the rear remotes it's cheaper to get started. You get long enough hoses to hook up the grapple. But you've got the long hoses to contend with that may or may not be a problem. The other thing is if your remotes are plugged with grapple hoses, you may be limited on using a hydraulic implement at the same time. Operation of the grapple is through the rear remote valve, wherever yours is located.

With the third function valve, a solenoid operated valve, there is a button that attaches to your fel joystick and you operate the grapple with that. You need to hook up a couple wires and also the new valve. So additional hydraulic plumbing becomes an issue, but I think it comes out pretty clean that way. That set up would cost more than the long hoses for the rears for sure. However, your rear remotes are open for use with another hydraulic implement. Like a backhoe or hydraulic boxblade if you want.

I second the motion for the 3rd function switch on loader stick. Works great. Dealer installed mine from WR Long.

I think 3RRL's overview is well balanced. I am one of the guys who is happy with my rear remotes (I operate the Millonzi LD48 as well) and I am quite happy with it. Using the rear remotes is so easy that except for spending a bit on hydaulic lines, you can get started immediately even if you have no mechanical skills or time to install a diverter. On the otherhand, the limitations listed by 3RRL are correct.
