Snow Best tires for the snow.

/ Best tires for the snow. #41
I am using industrial tires front and back with chains on the rear. Local Kubota dealer was very firm in not recommending chains for the front tires, he would not sell them to me in any case. Has to do with the way the front tires work in 4WD and with slippage in the back tires and then the front grabs they have experienced broken front end drive with chains. This is on a BX-24. Could be snake oil but all is good with the current arrangement so no need for me to change.

I think your dealer should have qualified his statements. As long as the tires have some slip there won't be a problem with chains all-around.

My 4WD truck can be driven in 4WD High on icy or snow-covered highways but not on bare pavement. As long as the road has snow or ice on it (as they always do in winter where I live) the tires will slip somewhat and therefore there will be no binding.

Many TBNer's (including me) and dealers up here use chains on all 4 wheels of their tractors and skidders for that matter.
