I am looking to see if anyone has found a website that sells JD parts at a discount. Local dealer won't budge from list.

Hello JDENIS34 and welcome to TBN.:)
You can find genuine JD parts on eBay,listed a bit cheaper. At least I have anyway. Unfortunately, most online retailers aren't any different (pricewise) than your dealer down the street. I think it's a John Deere pricing thing.
When I restored my 316,I dealt with quite a few online JD retailers, mainly because they had stock, only to pay the exact price as my local dealer.

My local dealer is as high as double the price as some internet dealers on some small items (like an intake overhead valve on an jd 445 and a head gasket). On some of the more common items like filters, they may only be 20% higher. As a local small business owner myself, I support local stores as much as possible because I do appreciate being able to run down to the local dealer and grab a part off the shelf as I walk through the lineup of new deeres. But it seems as of lately, very few parts are stocked, and it is a 2-3 day wait either way if I order from them or I order online. And if I have to pay twice as much for the same item, unfortunately my funds are limited so I have to choose how to wisely spend my money.

Mirrors my experience's as well... That said, over the past several years I've bounced back and forth between purchases on-line as well as my local dealer.

When I've shopped with the local guys during the course of discussion; I've mentioned a competing price, item number, shipping cost, etc. They know I'm looking around and I'm educated about what I need/want. I do my homework and I won't roll-over just because they're local and "good guys"!

If they're competitive - I'll buy right then. If not, I'll walk. I may come back at a later date and talk a bit more. The part's guy has now figured out he's gonna have to "work" to get my business, now!

And he does! He'll ship my part's as part of their inventory re-stock - for no added freight costs - whenever he can. And he'll most often meet the price of another vendor - if the part is OEM JD stuff - or beat it!

It just takes time... and for those dealers that will absolutely refuse to work with you - well, you don't want to place your trust in those guys anyway! Most definitely NOT for something that will run into tens of thousands of dollars!

I have used this parts place and never had a problem. I ordered 2 new seals for my front axle and the dealer only ordered one and it took over a week to get, and expensive. This place mailed it to me and had it in days.
GreenPartStore - Parts for John Deere Lawn Tractors, John Deere Lawn & Garden Tractors, John Deere Mowers, John Deere Attachments, John Deere Accessories

This is the place where I ordered nearly 90% of the parts I needed to do my 316.Never had a problem either.

I don't understand some posters having to pay quite a bit more at dealers.
As I have done for everything I've purchased, when you use the JD parts website, you see the price you will pay,and that is that, dealer or online,no more no less. There may be a few exceptions, but very few.
One other thing, most online JD retailers are actually JD dealers, which are set up to sell over the internet too.

Thanks for the input. I try to buy locally also but sometimes the price difference is too much.
