Best deal you ever got.

I've told this story before but my best deal was about 2 years after I rebuilt the engine on my neighbors MF85. I got my 8N stuck and asked him to borrow the tractor to pull the 8N out. He tossed my the key and told me to park it in my barn when I got done, He was not going to farm anymore and if he needed it for anything he'd know where it was.

Back in the late 80's. fresh out of college, I got a job as an airline mechanic in Denver Co. Being from Oh, 21, and alone, I would cruise the malls just for something to do. I found a gun shop, and visited it often and got to know one of the guys that worked there. While talking one day, he said he was trying to save up to buy a Ruger Mini-30, and he said he had two real nice double barrel shotguns for sale to get money for the new rifle. One a 20 ga, and the other a 12. I asked how much he wanted for the guns, and he said $60.00, so I told him to bring them to the store and if I liked them, I'd buy them. He brought both to the store, they looked almost new, and I told him I wanted both. Handed him $120.00 for both guns, and he said "no, the $60.00 was for BOTH guns. I felt like I stole them, but he was happy when we went our separate ways. I ended up giving one of them to my buddy who lost his job and sold his guns to pay bills and feed his family, just so we could still hunt together, and I still have the one I kept. I think my buddy made out better than I did, though.
