Best $25,000. to $35,000. tractor

I bought a 2,000 acre ranch with about 200 acres that need to be mowed. I also have sevral 10 to 20 acre food plots that i will need to plant for deer. I am shoppin for a tractor in the range of $25,000. to $35,000., with a/c cab, bucket, 4wd, and 95 to 120 HP. I have looked at the Case JX95 and liked it but have found no opinions on the JX. Thanks for the help.

By the way, is there a website where you can type in what you want and it spits out the tractors that match and does a comparison?

My initial recommendation was going to be the Kubota M9000, but when you wanted 95+ HP, Cab, 4WD and a loader, you fell out of the price range you wanted to spend.

I'm not sure what area of the country you are located for your profile is not very informative, what would be the reason you need 4WD? For mowing, you would need some pretty steep hills to need a 4WD on an Ag tractor.

What other attachments would you be using that would require 120 HP? I think you are going to have to increase the price you want to spend.

Google Agdealer, You should be able to enter enough data to narrow your search a lot. Personally I'd give some consideration to the 40 series John Deeres. They'd be used of course but likely in that price range. 4240 to 4440 would be in that hp and can be found with loaders. It also falls to dealer support, parts, personal preference etc.

If you are looking for a new econo tractor in that price and hp range,the field narrows very quickly. I'd say take a good hard look at the Valtra A 95. www.valtra.com

The Zetor Forterra might fit too,but it is more expensive. www.zetor.com

A guy stopped by my place a couple days ago when he saw me out with my Kubota. M9000. He has a M8200 that he uses on his 2800 acre ranch. We got to talking about the tractors and he asked me if I had ever needed more tractor. I am a small poultry farm so of course my answer was no. He replied that neither had he. He said that he pulled implements bigger than that tractor and it had always done everything he had asked although he sometimes had to put it in 4wd and carry a load of gravel in the loader bucket when the front got light. So what I’m saying is that you may be able to do most your jobs with a utility size tractor like a Kubota M series or NH TN or JD 54XX-64XX. All these tractors very capable and quality machines. If you look for a used one you should be able to find what you need in your price range. If you want bigger with a cab and loader I would think you would need to look at the used ag market.

The acres are in South Texas. It gets fairly wet. I have heard from a couple of people that 4wd would be a waste. I am really leaning towards the Case JX95 -- i am just a little concerned about it being made in Turkey, but who knows. I also like the NH TS115A. Anyone know the price range on that tractor.

I think you may be surprised what you would be able to do with a much lower HP tractor. I think you owe it to yourself to check out tractors from 65HP up. There are some really good ones out there in that range from JD, Kioti, Kubota, NH and others. Try them out and see what they can do. You would find yourself in that price range with the DK65C, cab, AC,remotes, remote PTO, and lots of other extras. You can do a LOT with a tractor this size. If you want new, you're looking at $45K plus for the larger tractors. John

A second hand JD 6410 or 6610 would be my pick for that HP range, but I'm unsure of the prices as I live on the other side of the world /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
