Backhoe Bell Housing Reinforcement?

I have a TC30 with 180 hours on it, I purchased a little used 758C backhoe, and am having it installed by a retired New Holland mechanic, and he recommended installing a bell housing reinforcement kit for the engine block.

Is it really necessary?, I don't plan on any hard use just trenching for waterlines, etc.

I'd certainly would if I were you and had an opportunity to do so. Having some sort of sub mount to transfer some of torsional force back to the rear axle is so important. Obviously tractor should not be used like a dozer but dynamic force exerted to the loader mount with a 1/2 full bucket depending on terrain and speed is tremendously huge. Back hoe can also upset smallish tractor like TC-30. There were some isolated report of Issue with TC-30 bell housing damage. They could have been due to negligence but if you have the opportunity to beef things up then you should do in my opinion. Some piece of I-beam can be fitted to tie the left and right loader mount and couple of beam to tie that off to the rear axle is all needed. I think it all has to do with how much of metal scrap pile he has and welding ability. Was there a factory designed subframe for TC-30? does the backhoe comes with some sub frame or is it just 3 point mount?

And torque the bell housing bolts regularly.

I've read (on TBN) of a number of smaller NH tractors suffering significant damage due to use of backhoes. No personal experience, but I would surely add the kit...and if the kit doesn't contain a sub-frame, I'd consider installing one of them too.
