I'm looking at a 93 belarus 925.
750 orig hrs,looks good(in the pic's)guy wants 4 grand.

? how is the front assist axle stand up to a loader.
? what are the weak points on this model.

I got a 78 800 2 wh drive and put 2 hay 1300 lb bales on the front loader, will the front assist axle of the 925 handle that?

For obvious reasons Belarus haters don't need to reply :p

Thanks

The 4wd system on the 925 is different than other brands. There is a weak spote right where it makes the 90 degree turn.... there are two axle shafts in there, and various problems can happen there...

1) - seals leak and the bearings run dry and self-destruct taking all with them
2) - if too much weight is put on the front end, the axle shafts will snap right where the gear and shaft meet.

But other than that.... they work well

What is the safe max load rating for these front axles.?

Unfortunately, I don't have the exact weight..... but I know it won't take as much as the 2WD axle you currently have. I will check my books tonight, and see if I can find something for you

750KG is the factory limit on loader capacity with the 4x4 system on the 925.....

Hope that helps

Thank you for that info.

750 kg is rather disapointing, but i knew the 2 wl drive front axle didn't fare much better.
I kept breaking kingpins on mine with only one 1300 lb bale on the loader.
The cockshutt axle i got under it now is build like a tank.

Do you happen to know the gear ratio of that axle?

Sorry, I don't know what the rear ratio is

If you pop the clutch in reverse with heavy load on the loader you can break the gear shafts (#4 or 5) or the drop tube (#64).There is an upgrade for the drop tube -it has a thicker flange.

Front Driving Axle -> 2308 Final Drive Reducing Gear (1005,1025)

For the bearing issue, put double seals in the drop tube with lips facing up(#17). Keep the back to back tapered bearings adjusted to .002 play, use 75w-140 instead of 90w for the gear lube. always use new o ring (#16)when reassembling.
