Another really hard day, this small community is numb from all the sad news, we are all praying for the families involved. The mother was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM today

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the families of many others in similar circumstances during the holidays.

My wife and I were watching TV two nights ago and heard a loud noise on the road. When we went to check it out we found a two car collision - center line left front to left front - that sent a family of 5 in one car to the hospital with serious injuries. Broken legs, arms, maybe a neck. Other driver? Uninjured. DWI.

On Thanksgiving a pregnant mother and her two young kids were killed going home from dinner. She ran off the road, over corrected and hit a tree. The HP said it was a freak accident. Kinda wonder if a deer ran in front of the car.

Just horrible. I think 10 people died in traffic accidents over the Thanksgiving.

A few Christmas's ago some girls and an older lady shop lifted some Cd's in a walmart in Muscle Shoals Al. That store is about 35 miles from here. The police and deputies had started a chase and they radioed ahed here and traffic was stopped from entering 72 west. They made it 35 miles to here and on to Corinth MS another 22 miles. The women got to Corinth and there was a family on Harper road crossing at a green light on 72. They got T boned and it killed 2 mothers and three or four children. People here were outraged, a deputy told me one time they had to stand gaurd outside the the jail to keep the peace.
I called the law on a local winner we have down the road here. he came over the hill in the wrong lane drunk and on a cell phone. He ran a lady that works a late shift going to work off the road. When we got to her car the drivers mirror was busted. She said his took hers off while dodging him. He begged for a tow out but I called the law telling him a tow was on the way. this was his 4th DUI and now hes gonna get to spend some time in the Delta. His brother just went for a DUI where a man died in the crash.

I bought my wife one of those gas saving foreign cars and one day I looked at the door and found out I could almost pinch the sheet metal where the window rolls up. Something was talking to me so I got rid of that vehicle and took a beating on the price because of it.

About two months later a guy driving drunk hit her head on, and she didn't get a scratch.

I see these people driving around in these gas savers and I thank God I got rid of my gas saver when I did and purchased a WIFE SAVER!

I go broke buying gas before I ever buy a cheap vehicle - I mean have you seen those smart cars?

Around here it was the same thing a girl plowed into a guy driving a big F250, here Mustang ended up the size of a bread box and the guy in the truck didn't get a scratch.

My prayers are with that Dad, and for all my friends here, buy the biggest SUV or pick up you can afford for your wife, I know I'm glad I did.

I have always been concerned with the crash worthiness of vehicles. After or near head on crash early in the year I am more concerned. With the money from the totaled CRV we bought a Sequoia. The CRV was around 3,000 pounds as was the car that hits us. The Sequoia is twice that weight and has more air bags than a clown has balloons.

Last night an idiot mother parked stopped on the rail road tracks near where I work. An Amtrack train hit the car and killed her two boys 6 and 10.

I used to cross that track 10 or so miles south of yesterdays accident and the number of idiots that would stop on the tracks was amazing. WHERE do they think they are going? Keyword is THINK. As in NOT.

Two dead kids because of not stopping 10 feet shorter than she should have due to NOT THINKING.
