If it becomes necessary to remove the battery on the XJ2025H, what's the procedure? It looks like I would have to remove the entire front panel to get the battery out.
The owner's manual doesn't say.

I didn't go look, but according to the service manual you just raise the hood and the bolt for the hold down bracket is front and center.

Yes, but once the hold down bolt is out, the battery is still enclosed. Looks like the entire grill might have to be removed.

Popping the hood you are probably right. It's in the warehouse now with a bunch of stuff around it so I couldn't get underneath. It doesn't look too horrible though. Something like a half a dozen screws per side to remove the grill, maybe a couple of screws up top. I've not ever had the hood itself off ours yet.

Does anyone on the forum have a shop manual that tells the procedure?

Below is what the service manual offers, sans a pic of a battery with no grill covering it. I've looked for whatever they may call the grill for RnR instructions for you, but cannot locate it.
3.1 BATTERY 3.1.1 DESCRIPTION
The battery (1) is located at the front of the tractor, underneath the engine hood.

Thanks much, tomplum!
They (LS) likely assume everyone takes their tractor to the dealer to do any battery maintenance, or store for winter etc? My tractor shed is 165 feet from the house and no power there. I talked to my dealer, and he said those tractors were "too new" for them to have service manuals. He "thought" you loosen partway maybe six bolts, and the grill piece is slotted, and slides out. Don't know about the two big bolts at the top. Guess I will find out in early winter when the battery gets taken into my basement garage so it doesn't go dead and freeze, unless I get power out there. I need to bury a 12-2G UF cable to the shed sometime.

I found that you can buy the manuals online. My dealer gave me a big old huh? when I asked about an electronic manual. I bought the parts manual too, but it isn't needed as you can look everything up at Messicks.

I removed the hood for the first time today. If you haven't already, it is quite simple. At the rear you have two tiny clevis pins and 2 washers. At the front you loosen the two 12mm headed bolts and there are 2 of the same that you have to remove.
