I am new to this site and recently purchased some land in KY. I live in TN. I need a tractor have been researching lots and have used this site a bunch and wanted to thank you guys for all the info. I've been hoping to get a price on a new Kubota from Barlow's but I'm not sure I'm using the right Barlow's. I am calling the place in Somerset, KY.

I have been to their website and submitted a request for pricing 3 times over the last 3 weeks and I have been attempting to call them. I've called probably 25 times over the last 2 weeks. It has been busy all but twice. The first time, an older gentleman told me to use the website so I went there again and I did it again with no response. I finally got thru to them again today after another 2 weeks. I assume I spoke to the same older gentleman and he told me to come by the shop. I explained to him that I lived too far away to come by and he said that that was the only way I could buy one from them. I told him that I thought they sold tractors all over and he said that they didn't. Only in store purchases now because there were too many options to sell one site unseen.

He then told me that I should go the website and fill out the form. I explained that I have done so 3 times and he responded that they are no longer selling any that way and if I could find some time to come up there, they would love to sell me a tractor. He did say that eventually somebody would get back to me via email if I submitted something online.

I assume that there must be a different Barlow's because this doesn't seem to be the one that everybody talks about. I cannot find another one using Google though and thought I'd ask here. Thanks guys!

Sorry, I didn't use enough spacing up there. It was just all one train of thought so I didn't space properly. I'll try and edit.

Gator, that is the website and phone number I've been using. I just thought it was strange that he told me that they don't sell any tractors to out of state people anymore. I'll try again.

Lee,

I have also recently contacted them through their web site for a price on a tractor. I was very specific as to what model & options I wanted, so hopefully that'll help it go smoother. After a couple days I got a response from Steve saying he'd get me a quote soon. From the sounds of it, they are very busy right now. Give them some time to get to your request, it may take a little while for them to catch up.

I just sent Brady an email on Satrurday for a quote as I am thinking about getting a new tractor. I bought from Barlow's a couple of years ago and they are great. Here is the response I got from Brady yesterday "Thanks for the inquiry. Unfortunately, we aren't doing as much of the long distance sales as we were so it may be awhile before we could get something down to you. What is your timeline like?"

I've bought 18 new Kubota's from Barlows. It took me several hours to complete the transaction on the last one, a ZD326.
Now is the busy busy busy busy busy (farming, farming, farming) season for Barlows. People constantly coming in and the phone never stops ringing. Does Steve need to hire help? Maybe, but then they want to be paid and all new employees require more time from the owner who has to make all sales decisions and then those of us that can wait, since our time isn't so valuable will have to pay more .....and then things slow down for most of the year and those of us that buy tractors have to pay more and.........well, hope you get the point. If you can be persistent and want to save money and don't need "special" treatment then Barlows may be where you want to shop. If not and you don't just drop into a perfect time slot.....well, pay more and get great attention where they don't serve farmers. The constant rain and then drying here is creating a bumper crop of hay but everyone wants the farming equipment......NOW and many NEED it NOW.

I got the same response. He additionally added that they were not doing anything till July on mine if that was okay...I told Brady over a week ago that it was okay if the rebates would still work...didn't mind waiting for delivery. I have heard nothing from him.

Good to hear at least things have picked up in some places.

I went to the new and only Kubota Dealer in two counties and they had one single Kubota in stock... lots of sales brochures... just nothing to sell except the one excavator.

Ask specifically about a M59 tlb 10 days ago and nothing... the place is not even 15 minutes away... so may have to drop back in.
