I thought it would be easy to change the tires on my BX from turf to Bar Tires. The local Kubota dealer does not carry any tires and I've not heard back from several tire companies. I'm worried about buying on the web for the fear of the tires not fitting or hitting the MMM. Does anyone know of a source or brand that I could order on the web that fit for sure?
Thanks,
BX2200, turfs are 18X8-8 front 26X12.00-12 rear

You can get the full set of wheels and tires from your Kubota dealer for like $300.00.

Or Tractor Smart is a big internet Kubota parts dealer, with an impeccable reputation.

I second the recommendation of Tractorsmart as a good source for a full set replacement.
Both the front and rear bar and turf tires are the same sizes and, more importantly, have the same circumference, so you can mix types. I bought a set of bar tires on rims for the front only, which I use in the winter and for loader work. Cost about $100 at the local dealer.

Thanks for the help. I've not been able to pull up any tires on the Tractor Smart web site. I have found one web site that list a bar tire with the time dimension for the front. The tire was a sigma but I can't find a picture of it to see what it looks like. Have seen a couple that are 9.5 wide but I'm worried they may hit something.

Their (Tractorsmart) website is not all inclusive. But, if you call them they offer the same good deals with everything that is contained in the parts books.

Ronnie at Tractorsmart says it would be best (cheaper) to purchase tires/rims direct from a Kubota dealer. Local dealer quoted ~$295 for a full set of wheels and Ag tires. For other parts, Tractorsmart is still better.

If you can't find the tires/rims at your local Kubota dealer, you can contact Maxxim tire directly and order the same bar tires that came as OEM on the BX22 & 2200, and the early BX23 & 2210. After attempting to put my neighbor's old bar tires from his BX22 onto my machine, and finding a bunch of holes & tears on the sidewalls, I ordered a brand new set of bars directly from Maxxim. If you want the contact info for Maxxim, PM me and I'll dig up the email address.

Gave up and ordered tires and rims from a dealer about 70 miles away. I would like to fill the tires to help with FEL work. I've seen a lot of post on filling the tires. If I have the dealer fill them I'll be moving them off the BX in my truck. Would it be better (or cheaper) to fill them myself? With the front tires being so small is there any gain from filling them?

Been a while, but as I recall, your owner's manual does not recommend filling the front tires and it would do you little good for FEL work. For rear implement work, I use suitcase weights on the front as my ballast.

Fill the tires yourself. Really is a simple task. You need a hose-to-tire valve adapter sold at Tractor Supply, and I am sure many other places (like your dealer). Read the owner's manual regarding the right anti-freeze mix so you do not coorode your rims. FEL work is much easier now that I filled mine. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

KPotts,

I don't know of anyplace on the web to get the tires. However, when I blew out the front bar tire on a BX23 I used to own, I called the number on the sidewall of the tire "For service call 1-800-XXX-XXXX" for a new tire. The company was in Georgia, I think it was named OTR or something close to that, and apparently this company supplies the OEM tires and rims to Kubota for the BX's. I believe the tires used on the BX23 may be the same size tires used on your Kubota, but please verify this information before ordering. Anyway, the front bar tire already mounted on a rim was around $56.00, and without a rim was around $25.00, I ended up ordering a tire on a rim and two extra front tires. The tires/rim were delivered by UPS to my home in Virginia in two days. It was real easy to order the tires by phone from this company. Check the sidewall of your turf tire for the information because an extra set of turf tires I had also had the same information.

Jim.
