For those of you who have metal bandsaws, and don't want to reset the vise every time you want to cut gussets or other 45 degree cuts (since few if any of these machines have "presets" that keep you from having to measure with a square every time, or at least scribe a line across the bed at "0" and "45" lines - here's a little project I've cut out but not yet welded (stuff happens, etc.)
If you build this so the blade end of the jig is a bit long, AND if you only use it on one saw, you can then place the jig in the saw with the stop firmly against the edge of the fixed vise jaw, and cut the excess off with the saw. That way, the end of the jig can also be a reference so you know where the cut will happen.
Hopefully some of you can get some use from this... Steve
