I have a Kubota MX5400. We have three 16ft. trailers on our place that we move around time to time. I want to use the tractor to do this instead of using my pickup. Do clamp on bucket ball hitches work or an A frame three point work better or suggestions on something that works for you. I know drilling a hole in forks works but we typically don’t have the forks on unless needing them. Mostly bucket is on. Any suggestions appreciated.

I have a ball attached to my draw bar & use that to move my trailers around

I drilled a hole in the lip of my box blade and put a ball on it. Used this setup for years, then broke down and bought a 3 point hitch receiver off amazon to allow for more maneuverability. Also used the draw bar with a ball, but you have to get off and manually crank the handle on the trailer jack and is less maneuverable. 3 point hitch receiver is by far the easiest.

I use a three point "trailer mover" I picked up at TSC. Has a 2" hitch receiver low for bumper pull heights or the upper ball for goosenecks. I use it for a 15K 20 footer as well as a boat trailer (with boat on it). You could probably get away with either a 3 point or bucket attached if the trailers are empty, any real tongue weight, & the 3 point is probably the better choice. Not sure how solid the clamps are for clamp ons, or your bucket height vs trailer hitch, but I've seen pics of folks attaching a ball on top of their bucket (usually a welded strength strip and thru bolted).

I have a three point receiver set up for my quick hitch. That's very convenient. I also have a quick hitch that I can mount on the loader arms in place of the bucket. Hitch on the rear is very quick. With it on the front, it's great for backing a trailer into a tight spot, but takes a little longer to install.

When I built my trailer mover I put it on the 3 point, no need to get off the tractor. Just back up to the trailer raise the 3 point and go, no need to raise or lower the jack. I go slow and seldom ever fasten the trailer hitch since I usually don't have to move them very far

I also built a 3-point trailer mover. Used the bumper mount 2" hitch box from HF. Way quicker than having to get off to crank jack! Able to spin a trailer in pretty tight spots.
Also made a quick pallet mover that goes into 2" box. It's similar to a quick hitch, but heavier build.
Haven't needed to have an upper ball for gooseneck, but I can add a plate if/when needed. Might need to think about how to add a cup to be able to move small 5th wheel trailers.

Have a receiver on the bucket and a receiver on the brush guard. Mounted a ball on the RFM so I can move the utility trailer and generator for mowing. Had a ball on the bucket of the last tractor.

Avoid "clamp on".... I had a clamp on hitch on FEl and as I was moving trailer it came free and all I could do is watch as trailer ran into nephews Toyota.....

What I am saying is only use solid mechanical connection (bolts and nuts or lock pins)....

My personal choice now is trailer ball on 3PH ( draw bar or "A" frame)....
