I just realized it's been decades since I had one ... literally. I remember them as being pretty simple. Core, stuff with a raisin, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter filling, then bake. But I can't remember if they should be peeled or not. Seems like not so they hold together better. Or what kind of apple to use if it matters.
