Have the KB2485 connected to my tractor in my signature. Where do you folks running this or a similar rig keep the rpms at when digging with the backhoe?

This is starting to get really frustrating. I was using the backhoe today and set the rpm's at 1800. After digging some holes the wife wanted for berry plants noticed the area under the backhoe seat was soaked with hydrualic fluid. It was even dripping off the underneath of the backhoe seat. Noticed a small stream coming from somewhere so just parked it and called the shop.

I am beginning to regret this Kioti purchase. 13 hours on it and this will be the second trip to the shop.

Set the speed where you are comfortable running it. If you are in a tight spot run it at a low rpm. I doubt you will stall the tractor. As you get more accustom to the machine you can increase the rpm.

I have the same setup as you. After a few hours of use I also had a leaking fitting connection. Let it cool down bleed pressure off and tightened it up. I have had no other leaks.

I have found i use all different RPM's depending on what i am doing. Tight areas with delicate work low to med rpm. With ripper tooth on PTO rpm works good for max force. I have about 25 hrs on backhoe. My skill level has increased quite a bit from my first few hours.

I have the 2475 on a ck3510se, so not exactly the same, but I'd warn against running at lower rpm's for backhoe work. It might be more comfortable in terms of control and noise, but you'll trigger regens much much earlier. When I bought my machine new last year, my first projects were digging, and I ran between 16-1800 rpm for most of it. First regen was at only 18hrs. I bumped the rpms up to 2200, and 2nd regen was at 63 hrs. Since the tech is fairly new, and DPF's are expensive to replace, I'd rather have the longer intervals between regens. Haven't done the math to determine how much more fuel I burn at the higher rpms, but I think it's fairly minimal. Good luck with the oil leak, luckily my machine has been trouble free (so far).

Contacted shop and they are coming to my house tomorrow (Saturday) at 8:30 to do the repair. So far customer support is outstanding.

Not an NX, but my DK 35 I generally run around 2100-2200 RPM with an 8 1/2' backhoe.

Run 1800-2400. This is the best to keep the engine temp up and the regen happy.

I run mine at 2000 rpm. I have not had any leaks. I’ve got about 450 hours so far.

Just a caution when running the backhoe at higher rpm's, when it warms up it speeds up. If youre digging along a basement wall you might want to take that into consideration.
