Kioti ds4510 / kb2485 backhoe / KL401 loader
I want to add a hydraulic tilt actuator to my 3 point & am wondering if I can use the backhoe remote. It has an A - off - B selector. As a test, I tried to hook my top link to it, but was unable to connect the hose without bleeding off some pressure. Not wanting to force things, I figured I'd better get some expert advice before trying again.
I would add a new set of valves to the top link / grapple remote, but my dealer tells me that any "non Kioti" additions to the system will void my warranty. Kioti does not have a third function kit available for my DS4510 HS.
The detent is quite stiff on the backhoe remote, but it seems to me I could work with that, since the tilt function doesn't need to be used as often as the top link.
Oops... Gotta run. There's a bear in the yard, ripping apart my heavy plywood garbage can container. The next one's gonna be steel... Or concrete!
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. About hydraulics AND bears.
Cheers Y'all. Dan

I wouldn't. If you have quick connects on the top link hydraulics, I'd take it off and put the factory top link on it for peace of mind. It takes what, 2 minutes tops to swap them?

Thanks for your input moose, but I really wanted to know if there's a reason the backhoe remotes wouldn't work for the side link. Tractor hydraulics are new to me & I don't want to do any damage to the system.
Is there something different in the backhoe valve that would make it so hard when I tried to connect the top link hose?
It seems to me that it *should* work fine, but I don't know! for sure.

I just sat & reread your question and I think I understand now.

Is your backhoe an aftermarket?

My tractor backhoe is ported through the 3PH connections. When I take the BH off, I disconnect the lines and loop them back on the tractor to restore 3PH function. It's always flowing regardless of the lever selection. I'd imagine if you want to use the remote for BH hydraulics, you'd need a way for the lever to be activated in a detent position in the right direction. The "float" function isn't one of them.

I do have two remotes that are separate from the system and they are used for other functions.

Does it help?

My hoe is a Kioti KB2485 unit. The remotes designed for it & factory installed. (Detents in both A&B positions- when the hoe is working the lever is selected to the B position) The remotes don't need to be connected when the hoe is unplugged. The backhoe selector valve does have a two way function. (I assume if I reversed the connectors, or selected the "A" position instead of "B" on the selector, the hoe would still function, but the controls would work backwards)
When I installed the second remotes for the grapple / top link, the new valve looked the same as the factory installed backhoe valve.
My dealer wasn't very helpful, but I think it's time to ask him to check with "head office" to see if I can get this question answered.
Thanks for the reply.
