The driver side outrigger on my B26 leaks down much faster than the other one. It will leak down to horizontal in about 3-4 days. The other one only moves an inch or so in the same time frame. Is this something I should have the dealer check or just latch them up somehow? (They need to be up to maneuver the tractor out of my barn.)

The seals are just tighter on the one than the other but they will leak down. I use a tie down strap to keep mine up. I just raise both up as far as they go slip the ends of the strap over the cylinders near the "feet" and ratchet up the slack. It works great and it's easy to put on and take off.

Jibber i did the same for mine. I uses a small piece of wire plastic coated wire and put a couple of small 's' hooks on it. My problem is sometimes ill forget and hit the lever to use them and it opens the 's' hook up lol
My friend has a full size backhoe and parked next to his brand new truck.and it leaked down and scratched and dented the door. Not good.

My Bushog 762 backhoe O/Rs on a L2600DT does the same thing. Hydraulically, it a simple open center system once the pressure bleeds to tank gravity takes over. I use rubber bungee cords and tie them both together all the time when not in use. They are the heavy duty type you'd use to tie chains on an 11R22.5 wheel. Works perfect for my application.

This may have been the exact reason the bungee cord was invented.
Use one a different color than your tractor, so you can see it if you forget to take it off.

I actually had a bungee cord on the outriggers, but it stretched. Guess I need a heavy duty bungee...

might one lower the outriggers, just as one lowers the FEL and/or 3pt implement?

Good idea Joel, the same works for all cylinders!

Lowering when parking solves one problem. However, if they are leaking down, they tend to do so at an accelerated pace while driving over bumpy ground. This can lead to a surprise turning, or maneuvering in close quarters, if you do not realize one has partially deployed.

The bungee is a cheap $1.99 insurance policy.

Can someone recommend a bungee type/brand that will hold these guys up?

...my tractor is parked in a tight spot, so I need to keep the outriggers up...
