I'm thinking of mounting my Kubota 4672A backhoe on a yet-to-be procured Kubota B8200 2wd tractor which has a hydraulic front blade rather than an FEL. The blade has good down pressure. I could hang some suitcase weights on the blade for better counterbalance. Has anyone done this or have some advice? The 2wd is pretty useless for anything except mowing, but when I hang the backhoe on it, traction for the rear wheels will not be a problem. Thanks for any opinions.

My dad has a b8200, great little tractor, he has a loader but no backhoe. I'm sure it would operate a hoe fine but you will definitely want some front weight on it since you don't have a fel. My 5240 gets a little light in the front going up hills with the bh92 hoe on it and the front loader, never tried it without the fel. It's not bad but a noticeable difference, theses backhoe attachments hang a lot go weight off the back.

Thanks for the info. I've owned a B8200 before with an FEL, then got rid of it years ago to upgrade to the B2400 with FEL. The B8200 is definitely fine with the 4672A backhoe. I normally put the backhoe on the B2400 now, but it's not a quick attach, and it takes a bit of time to put it on and take it off with a lot of fussing, especially after I "store" a bunch of stuff on top of the backhoe in the shed. In fact, I barely use the backhoe anymore just because of the effort involved. It makes the tractor too heavy if I just leave it on, since I'm driving across my lawn all the time. So I thought if I picked up a cheap older Kubota, I could just leave the backhoe on it all the time.

I would never mount the backhoe without an FEL or some other heavy implement on the front for balance. I'm just not sure if the hydraulic front blade is enough, and wondered if anyone had already "been there, done that" and could give me some advice.
