Greetings,
New to this forum, very helpfull and informative! I've been around tractors & equipment most of my life, off & on, but its been a few years (before the world wide web) since I had much to do w/ little tractors.
For my application, needs, location, and budget, I've narrowed down my search to what I think would be best. I'm strongly leaning towards a Yanmar 4x4, in the high 20's h.p. range- around 2,100-2,800lbs machine, the older "YM" series. I'll be doing a fair amount of dirt work & leveling, landscaping, moving round bales for my wifes' hay-burners, cleaning stalls, digging trench for water lines-electric/phone, driveway work, loading sand/salt into a 2 yard- truck mount hopper/sander.
Through this site, I recently talked to a knowledgable fellow that sells these little grey-market tractors & various impliments. I'm familar with the vietnam "rebuilds" and will steer clear.
At any rate, there seems to be a wide varitey of different backhope attchments available. I'm the kind of guy who does best looking at it myself, however thats not practical, can you help?
I'd like a high-quality hoe that can really dig, built sturdy, and will dig around 7-8 feet. By the way...I read one old [longgg] thread on here about tractors broke in half; some folks said it was from too big of hoe for the machine, mounted wrong, and a LOT of comments about abuse. From experince I'm kneely aware that one operate can use a machine for many years and hundreds of hours w/ little wear, while another "operator" can destroy a machine within a few hours.....I take care of my equipment and take pride in its condition.
