Backhoe for a MF 1250 30 HP tractor

I have a MF 1259 tractor with about 2000 hours on it. Purchased it new. I am thinking of adding a three point backhoe to do some utility installation, light clearing, etc. Does anyone have comments, suggestions, etc. I also have a small budget.

I don't know about a small budget, most backhoes cost some money. If ya know what I mean.

I had a Bushhog brand unit on a 33hp New Holland. Underpowered piece of junk, hard on the tractor, and so little reach, you either had to have somebody sit in the tractor seat to move the tractor forward constantly, or you had to jump out of the backhoe seat and into the tractor seat, move it, then jump back. On the positive side, it was a GREAT counter weight to the front end loader !

SAVE YOUR MONEY.....rent or hire a real backhoe or mini excavator to do your digging.

I had a MF 1020 with a woods 3ph hoe. It served me well installing electrical service and water lines as well as removing stumps. When I replaced the massey with a kioti I kept the hoe
It has shortcoings I agree but sure beats a shovel or hiring a pro for a small job
It is powered by a pump on the pto so tractor size is not important

A 3 pt backhoe on a small tractor is asking for problems, you need a subframe unit.
