Backhoe for 7610

Looking at the costs of a B4672 backhoe for my 7610. I'd prefer to keep all my equip Kubota brand.

A "ballpark" number I've heard tossed around is about $6,000.

Which sort of shocked me a bit due to what I've heard about the cost of a BX backhoe being around $3800.

That's a big difference. Now I know the B hoe is larger, heavier and so on......but $2200 more?

Are these numbers right?

I've got a septic tank to dig up in the spring (replace plastic extensions on covers with concrete ones...long extensions at that.....about 3 ft ext on top of a cover that is 2 ft deep. So I assume I'll have to dig a 4-5 ft hole, 2 of them really)

Been considering a BH for a bit now (for other projects), and this just adds to the list.

But $6k?

After shopping for a BH for my B7500 I found the prices for the B4672 to be around $6000. I could have bought a woods for a little less and that is what I would have done but I decided to wait.

$6,000 is about right. I just bought a b7610 with loader and backhoe and that's the price I got. Can I justify the backhoe? Well, there is a list of projects that I have that will be much easier with the hoe (not $6,000 worth). But, ask me in 10 years and I'm sure I'll be thankful I bought it. I can think of numerous projects (drainage etc.) That I haven't done at my current house because I didn't want to spend several days working a shovel. Now all those maybe projects that pop up are going to get done. I decided if I'm going to buy a tractor, I'm going to get the one I want. Soon the thing will be paid off and I doubt I'll ever think about the $6,000. My bar tab from college was more than 6K and I don't regret that

Thanks (sadly) to all those who verified the $6k price tag. I guess I'll have to ponder this one a bit more.

What's to ponder? You know you want one. C'mon... try it... you'll like it. If you don't like it you can always give it up. Everybody else is getting one. Even that fifth dentist recommends a backhoe.

Even though I know I'll love mine I still get occasional twinges that it is a guilty pleasure.
