Backhoe Backhoe boom lock pin

After months of research, I bought a CK25 with FEL & 7.5'BH. I'm very happy with the tractor, just wish I bought it 6 months ago. Here is my problem, while it is parked the boom will drop somewhat over time, which I assume is normal (I know never assume) the dealer finally gave me the swing and boom pins (they were left in the shop during delivery) I can't get the boom pin to line up. the holes are slightly off. Is there some way to adjust the backhoe? It needs to come back to the tractor more, not alot but enough for the holes to line up for the pin. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to "jiggle" the boom either manually or with hydraulics to get the holes to line up. Unlikely that they cannot be lined up due to structural misalignment.

I've tried to jiggle and with the hydraulics, if the boom is out and you pull back on the joystick it will come up all the way and the holes are lined up for a split second but then the boom drops back down slightly and the holes are not lined up. IF you just pull back on the joystick and keep it back you can hear the hydraulics as if it is fully retracked. I didn't know if there were an easy adjustment to line everything up, and maybe when they were assembling it were off a little bit. I could call the dealer but I didn't know if anybody here maybe had the same problem.

You should not have to be touching your controls while standing behind your tractor trying to insert the boom lock on your backhoe !! This is an "ACCIDENT" waiting to happen!!! Call the dealer and make him fix this NOW! This is a saftey issue !

Yep, I agree with Big Al. You should not be standing on the back side of the hoe while moving levers. It only takes a second to be very badly hurt.
I am assuming you have the Kioti 7.5' backhoe. If so it may have been somehow set up wrong. I have that hoe and the boom pin will just slide in after the hoe is brought all the way up and backs down a little. It really needs the dealer to look at it and correct it. Better now than after you get hurt trying to pin it.

Yes, it it the kioti backhoe and no, I was not nor do I ever plan on standing behind and try to operate the controls. Thanks for thinking of my well being. I'll probablly give the dealer a call tomorrow. I was just wondering if there were some way of adjusting it from underneath. I kind of like to be able to fix things myself to get a better understanding of how they work. Thanks for the replys.

I am having the same problem with my 7.5 on a CK30. I took it back to my dealer and was told that you must manually lift the boom to get proper alignment. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I know that was BS /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif but what can you do? So I use a 2x4 and lift under the bucket then slide the pin in. I cannot find any adjustment of any kind! So troops any suggestions would be helpful here too. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Do you have any problems getting the pin back out with the weight of the backhoe now resting on the pin? I thought of trying to do something like that but then figured once I got the pin in I'd never be able to get it out, atleast not by hand. I figured it should just slide in and out nice and easy.

This may sound odd, but I'm wondering under what circumstances you need to lock the boom. Why not just set 'er down to take the weight off? I've never used my lock pin at all; I figure I'll use it if I need to transport the tractor or something like that.
Could you run a ratchet strap back to the ROPS to cinch back the boom? I guess you'd have to be careful not to put much lateral stress on the rollbar.

Unfortunately when I built my shed about 4 years ago, I didn't quite figure I would buy a tractor quite this big. The shed is 10' x 16' and the tractor with the fel and bh are a tight fit. I have to swing the bh 90 degrees to the left or right to get enough room to close the doors. So, over time the boom tends to creep down if it sits for a week or so and the next time I go to play, I mean work around the yard, the boom is right against the side of the shed. I just figured since the machine came with one just for this type of purpose I'd might as well use it.
