Backhoe attachment

Good afternoon, I have a 2002 New Holland TC 21 (not a D model) which has a standard transmission, not a hydrostat. Would anyone know if there is a backhoe attachment that would fit this machine? also, a make and model number would be a great help. Thank you

According to tractordata.com, New Holland never offered this model with a factory Backhoe.

So you must consider if the plumbing is there to connect tractor hydraulics to an aftermarket Backhoe.

Hydraulic pump flow is low.

You are probably better off renting a stand-alone mini-excavator from Home Depot or a rental company than attempting to add a Backhoe to this light tractor. Without plumbing, an aftermarket Backhoe would probably cost $5,000.

Thank you, right now I do not have any tasks planned, just wanted to see if it was available. May want to dig 4' depth for a new foundation, or plant several trees which In can use my post hole digger. Thanks again

Not only that bur without a subframe, you stand a real good chance of breaking the rear case. Backhoes really need a subframe mount, especially light duty tractors like you have.

I'm unsure if a backhoe attachment for a 2002 New Holland TC 21 exists because I've never seen one. I'm currently using a rented excavator, which is quite large and heavy, and it's superior to a backhoe. I've seen attachments that slide over the back of a tractor, but I doubt they'd fit yours. Your tractor now comes in a new model, the TC 23. If you need a backhoe attachment for your tractor, look no further than the TC 23. No attachments appear to fit your vehicle, at least not that I have seen.

Ford did have the 756C backhoe subframe mounted available for the TC21, 6’ dig depth. As previously stated, it would probably not be cost effective and may be slow. I also agree that mounting a backhoe on that tractor is not a great choice as the rear end housing is aluminum and could break regardless of the backhoe being subframe mounted.

A mini excavator rental may be the best option.

Man, if I had the money I would definately buy a mini excavator. Very versatile and easy to use and reposition.

That said I bought an L3901 kubota specifically to have the backhoe because I could not afford a mini escalator and a skid steer. Its immensely useful. I use it all the time. Swapping it out to use the 3 point hitch is fairly easy and quick. I bought it because rentals were getting so expensive at $300 a day from home depot or other rental spots. Plus hours were capped on a day rental and if it rained heavy, and washed out your time...you just ate the rental time. After $2000 and no end in sight I bought a tractor.

Maybe sell and buy another tractor with a backhoe is an option? Maybe not a preferred one...but no one else is saying it.
