Can anyone identify this backhoe attachment?

I'm wondering if it would fit on my Ford 545

It looks like a narrow trenching bucket with the two center teeth missing (just the shanks are there). The pin diameter?

I don't know, but I think its a Ford 723. Will that fit a 545? Also, what are the specs to a 723?

Quite likely, being that it is the predecessor, but I don't recall pin sizes. If you can check them it could be a go. A combination of various pins and bushing could be a solution.

Opti-mist,

Actually I found a 753 that I think I'm going to buy. However, I'm curious about two things. How would one fabricate a subframe to hook a 753 to a 545C, and how would you handle the hydraulics.

You might be able to find existing subframes. Back in the day they were available as kits and they should still fit a 545 as long as the front axle support still matches. Boneyards may have them. Same for the hydraulics. Adapting will only involve standard parts that any dealer can help you with. Good luck with your project, that is a good 13 foot backhoe. It could be helpful to know where you are located as well.

I'm in Michigan and any information about a 545c or the 753 backhoe would be greatly appreciate.

I'd like to know the lift capacity of the loader and the specs for a 753 backhoe, like breakout and dipstick force

There is a lot of info available via Google. Have you talked with your local dealer about this? Some of those guys are a veritable library and if they have the manuals just about all of your questions can be answered. If I'm not too far away I can help you to figure some of this stuff out although I've been away from the industry for more than 20 years now. I'm in Lapeer for now.

I have a 545C, which is a bit different than the 545, the 1991's seem to have a more powerful loader.

As far as the subframe is concerned, I have salvage yards looking, but it doesn't look too good. It looks like I'll have to fab it myself, for both the hydraulics and the subframe.
