Well my clutch problem is fixed and good as new....maybe better than new.
In my "Help" thread I asked if anyone new where the springs were supposed to hook for the throwout bearing. Mark777 stepped in and said that he had encountered this problem before, that the casting had a place to hook the spring but that casting sometimes broke off. He explained how he fixed it.
I went back to my mechanic with this new information and we quickly found where those castings on each side use to be. He applied the fix Mark suggested and I got it back yesterday.
Works like new and the fix looks like it was made that way from the factory. Only problem is that the bolt on the left sticks out just a little too far and catches my shoe when I release the clutch. I'll adjust that with my little dremmel tool.
I have attached a drawing of the fix so anyone interested can download it in case they encounter a similar problem in the future.
Thanks again Mark and I hope you're feeling better.
