I was at my local JD dealer this past Friday, and he informed me that there is a rear back hoe in the works for our 2210's! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Supposedly do out about this time next year, 2005. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif He got this information at one of the JD training seminars.

This will be a great addition to the 2210 features and will remove any advantage that the Kubota or Massy might have over the 2210. I've looked at the Kubota's setup and it looks like it was nicely done. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The Massy (2300?) didn't impress me much. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I wonder how this will provide hydraulic power to the 2210's back hoe, as there are no rear hydraulic kits or power beyond kits for the 2210. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Now, if JD would just offer a true Rockport for the rear 3pt! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I believe he was probably refering to a hoe that Woods is comming out with soon. It should be about two months until they are out. I have seen pictures and mockups of this thing and I have my doubts about it, time will tell. I will grab some pictures as soon as we get one in.

Neil,

I don't think so. He was pretty specific about it being at one of the John Deere train sessions and that it was a JD product.

Time will tell. If its for real, I'll be putting my order in.

I was at the dealer again this evening, and he has seen this posting and confirmed that it was a JD brand back hoe in development for the 2210. It was presented as addtional information with the announcement of the 46 back hoe for the 4110 later this year.

We better start saving now. What do you figure, $2500?

Well, having used my 4110 with the 46 backhoe for sometime now, this statement confuses me.

Well, that is kind of funny. I sort of rember tell the sales guy some time ago that there was a BH for the 4110 and he didn't believe me. So I opened the sales brochure and showed him one. I just figured it wasn't out yet.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the 46 run you? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Do you like it's performance? Is it something that you can remove fairly easily?

YMMV*, but I paid $5200 installed. Remember though, that when it's a package deal they can assign the price any way they want. Also remember that there are things you have to get if you get the back hoe like a tall folding ROPS and a power beyond kit so the actual price is a bit higher. I might have purchased the power beyond anyway, but the tall folding rops was, I think, $150? something like that.

As for performance, let me first say that I've never used any other BH, so my information is suspect, but it's done everything I've asked it to with flying green and yellow colors. Easy to use once you get used to the controls (for a new BH user). It's been perfect so far.

I haven't tried to remove it yet, though I plan to soon. I've looked it over and read the instructions and it looks to be very easy. I expect the first time it will take me ten minutes to get it off and twenty to get it back on again, but after that I imagine about 5 minutes for either on or off. The first time is always the hardest.

YMMV - Your millage may vary.
