Grading Back blade size

Just bought a new B2320 and have a question on the best size rear blade to buy for it. Will use it for snow removal and to clean up horse manure on 5+ acres. Want to get a 6' but concerned if will be too big for it as it is a "compact" tractor with turf tires. Any thoughts?

I have always used a 6' rear grader blade on my B7200 and now my B2620. I have never had a problem with either tractor pulling it except in deep snow. Depending on how wet/heavy the snow is(usually fluffy here), if I get much more than 6-8 inches it wants to push the rear end of the tractor sideways when the blade is angled. I usually plow snow going forward, but when it is deep I will plow backwards. I have a steep driveway so I always plow downhill, which I think helps(gravity is on my side). I have used the blade to grade dirt, gravel, sand, etc. I am usually doing what I call finish grading and not trying to move big piles of stuff so I am not loading up the blade with a lot of material. You have the FEL, so what I usually do is move material with FEL and rough grade and then bring in the rear blade if necessary. Of course this was when I was using a full size TLB. I find now I don't need the rear blade as much with the FEL on the B2620 now. I now use the FEL and my landscape rake to finish grade, especially for planting grass. You may also consider a land scape rake for cleaning up the manure also. I only have $380 in both my 6' grader blade and my 6' landscape rake, bought them both new.

So I would say I would only be concerned about how deep of snow you will be plowing (probably deep in Mn). The 6' blade when angled covers about 4"-6" wider on each side of my tire tracks. The 5' when angled will probably just be as wide as your tires are.

Thanks for the info. What brand blade and rake did you purchase. King Kutter is inexpensive, but you kind of get what you pay for too.

I know my grader blade is by Wallace Auto manufact parts. It does not have a removable cutting edge. I paid $130 for it at Rural King on sale about 5 years ago. I have used it the most of all my implements. I plow my 1200-1400' gravel driveway even if it only has a 1/2" of snow on it. I just checked their website Rural King and I could not find it. I checked about a month ago and they still showed it on their website for I think $160. The cutting edge is a little rounded, but I don't use it for cutting I use it more for smoothing and it doesn't disturb the gravel as bad. It won't dig in like my grader box will. I will have to go see who makes the landscape rake, I got it from rural king as well and I am pretty sure it is not KK.

I pull a 6ft rear blade with my B7510 an it does well. As Jbrier said if the snow is heavy wet stuff it will push the rear of the tractor sideways. I also used it to redo my driveway to make major improvement in drainage. It worked well for both tasks. Mine is a King Kutter that I found used locally. It is built well enough that the little 7510 or the 2320/2620 don't pack nearly enough power to hurt it. If you have more money get the kind where you can tilt the blade too not just swivel it around.
