I came across a clean used B8200 HSD with Dual loader and it has 1300 hrs on it. He wants $7500 or obo. Is that good price? What year do they make B8200?

Loren, why not wait until people get on the board? Being upset at those who have tendancy to go to bed earlier, and get up early, 02:17 A.M. is just wee bit much. Be patient. Wait until later, give them a chance to get up and drink a cup of coffee!

Loren -

Not sure why your post fell through the cracks. I can only apologize for myself -- sometimes time is short and the number of posts is many, so I just don't get to all of them.

All I was able to find out is that the B8200HSD was first introduced in 1983 and continued to be made, I think, until 1988. It apparently sold new for between $11K and $12K w/out FEL.

Maybe somebody with a used tractor guide can come up with a fair price for the one you're looking at -- Pat?

If this information is too late, we apologize. You did the right thing by posting a follow-up message, but you might want to work a bit on your bedside manner. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

The 8200 seems like it was never a real popular model based on the number of used ones I have seen (zero) compared to, for example, the 7100. Therefore, I don't know much about it. Is it hydro or gear? 2 wheel drive or 4? If HSD meant the same in 1985 as it does today, it must be 4 wheel , hydro. If it is,and in good shape, the price seems very good compared to what other similar size Kubotas sell for in my area - these things really hold their resale. If it is 2 wheel drive i would pass unless all you need is a mowing machine. The only real worry if it is gear drive is the clutch. Abused, it could be shot at 1300 hours. A new one is around $1,500 !

Loren, as far as I know the B8200 is a good tractor, but since there aren't that many around, and since it was apparently made from 1983 to 1990, it's value depends to a great extent on the condition, and I don't know anything about a Dual loader. You might want to look at http://www.tractortips.com/make_model/specsdisplay.asp where they show some specs and a new cost of about $11,400 and I don't know anything about where they got their information or its accuracy.

Lots of folks on here will try to help you if they can but may skip over messages which ask questions to which we have no helpful answer.

Well better late than never. I would not sell my B8200HST with FEL for less than $10k with 900hrs. The reason you don't see many used ones is that they are so good, no one wants to give them up. The B20 is based on the B8200. That says how tuff they are! I think that if its in good condition than $7500 with loader is a steal. It also depends on what part of the country you are in as well.

There are a few B8200's around, like mine and Von's.
they were made mid 80's to early 90's. My understanding, from the board that proceeded this one and my local dealer, is that they were the precursor to the B2150. The B2150 has a bigger motor, but otherwise the drivetrain is B8200.

It has a 19hp motor. PTO is rated at 16hp. It was available as 2wd, 4wd, gear, hydro, PS, no PS. It has three ranges, like the B2150. It is rated pretty darned similar in all facets to the B2150.

My particular B8200 was represented by the dealer as a '88. It is 4wd, hst, but no PS. I have turf tires, but want to upgrade to R4's when these wear out. Mine has a Bushhog loader. It's got a few years on it, but is only topping 625 hours right now(200 hours are mine).

This thing is built like a tank. The only thing I'd change, is PS, R4's, and a few extra ponies. Basically that equals a B2150 or B2710. It has been a great tractor; I have worked it hard a few times; it just goes like that silly battery bunny /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I would estimate one in good condidtion at $9500 and up, depending on your geographic location; mine was about that 2.5 years ago with 425 hours.

Apparently it worked...As you can see that my first post was dated 10/30 then my second post(yeah in wee hour) dated 11/11 apparently got some attention. First of all, I appreciated your replies. Shortly after my second post, the owner had second thought and backed out the deal so he is keeping his tractor. Then I visited a Kubota dealer 200 miles away and learned a shocking news that the dealer told me that this guy had backed out the deal more than three times already so we never knew what is his problem... Again, many thanks...

I bought my B8200 4wd w/frontloader, 4' shredder, 48"finishing mower, and scraper blade in march 1988 in Brenham, Texas for $10700.
I'm from austin now living in mason and this machine of mine has been through all kinds of tuff work It has "NEVER" broken down. It was repossesed and the dealer can't sell it for more than was owed and there are no sales taxes on tractors in Texas. I recommend you take it to a dealer or mechanic and have it checked out if for no other reason, peace of mind.
Your price sounds good to me, but I like to barter and would offer a price of about $6000 just to feel them out and go from there. Mine has no power steering but the front tires are small and you get used to it. Easy steering when its moving.
Only one problem I have found, its tiring after back and forth movement because of the constant operation of the clutch, your leg and foot tend to be sore. I would go with a auto if I could have my druthers. Good luck.
