Are these older B8200 a good small machine. I am intrested in known reliability & toughness for a small tractor. This would be a 2nd tractor for me as I have a JD 3032E. I don't like not having just 1 of the same tool, 5 chain saws etc, etc. I hate break downs without a backup. I am on 5.8 acres & with alot of trees mixed in. I would be tradeing a ZTR I have that I paid 7k for this year. My property is not worthy of a good ZTR yet, major mole damage etc, all needs fixed w/ time & effort. If anyone is familiar w/ this model please let me know.
Thanks Joe

I have a '87 (?) B8200 with gear drive I bought with 460 hours in 2001 or so. With no more than fluid changes, new filters and a wax job, it has been a perfect tractor for us. I have a 5' scraper blade, 4' bucket and a post hole auger. All get used, from time to time. I got it mostly to maintain 800' of stone lane, move the occasional rock and redo wood fencing. I can drag pretty big logs in low gear (turf tires don't help) with the 4WD- my elderly neighbor has about 30 acres of woods, and I help him with his firewood harvest. I did add a power steering kit in '03... necessary, I feel, especially for bucket work. Oh- I added some gauges, also. If you search posts, I think my fotos are still on file.
