We have a B7610 and having a terrible time keeping it running at pto speed under any kind of a load. Even with the lightest load it wants to lug down 2-300 rpm below pto speed but has good power at that level with throttle at full speed or set to run that speed. Is this normal for these? I don't cair to lug it and have be advoiding it. But running it on a BX2750 snow blower in 1-2" of snow at a creep is all it can do with out lugging. I use to run a Arins GT17 with a 48" blower at twice the speed in 12" deep snow. If I let the 7610 lug down 2-300 rpm it will preform almost as good as the old Arins. The 7610 should eat it for lunch, I think. I plan to have it run on the dino I wounder if the govener is messed up and not opening up? Any thoughts? thanks

Check your throttle linkage and injector pump linkage. … sounds like it may not be allowing a full stroke at the injector pumps. KennyV
PS… You might also check for fuel restriction, filter plugged or iced…

A dirty air filter will cut power down to.

I am also running a BX2750 front blower on a B7610. Amazingly, my last snow removal machine (before a brief stint with a BX2200) was also an Ariens! It was a 14HP with a 48" front blower.

I think I may have noticed what you are talking about. I previously ran this blower on a BX2200 and never noticed any change in the engine pitch while blowing snow (it didn't have a tach.). Not so with the B7610. I almost always hear what sounds like a bit of laboring when I am blowing snow. However, I do not see any RPM change. I just figured it was the nature of the beast.

You have to admit, with 4WD, there is no comparison to the trusty old Ariens, as stout as they were. BTW: Mine was 30 yrs old when I sold it to my neighbor. He still uses it, and loves it!

Thanks for the replys. Fuel and air filters are clean I will check the linkage. Dealer wants to do a 50 hr check up shortly so I'll have the power checked then. The pitch does change a bit befor it lugs down but does lug down too easily. The koler twin in the ariens just got louder and louder as the load increased but the blower usially would push snow in front of it befor the engine luged. I loved that old ariens very very good machene very little trouble untill the end. It had 4,500 hrs and served us well. Finaly oil use got excessive, the key ways in the shafts were worn badly as was about every linkage in the machene and the final straw was the front clutch broke and damaged the front of the crank. It did not pay to fix it any more as worn out as it was. It still runs but is mostly retired. I may bring it out from time to time to pull the water wagon if the 7610 is tied up. The 7610 is a dream machene foot hydro, 4wd, 2 speed rear pto and 3 pt. Never be with out 4 wd again. The B7610 has met and exceeded most of my expectations. As nimble as the garden tractor but with the traction and features of a utility tractor with far more uses. We do work it pretty hard pulling 8' pull type grader, 5' brush cutter, 72" RFM and many other jobs. So far it's only on the blower that I'm having concerns. Thanks

Minnesota in the winter huh? Gets kinda cold there. It could be as simple as not having winterized Diesel fuel in your tractor tank. Have you run through a tank full this winter yet? Replaced it with freshly pumped Diesel? Non-winterized Diesel will form wax crystals below about 5 deg. F and will plug up the fuel filter. Winterized Diesel is thinner and will flow better below zero.

Minnesota cold? -8 forcast for the high on thursday. I do have #1 diesel in the tractor. Have run several tanks through in the last three weeks. I'm woundering if 1# causes a power loss more so in kubota engiens than other engines? I know most diesels loose a small amount of power on #1 and some effecency? Just a thought.

Yep, less BTUs per gallon in #1. Probably lower power, but it shouldn't cause the type of problem you are describing.

How many hours on the tractor? Had the 50hr/any service done? If so did they change the Hydraulic/transmission fluid like they are supposed to do? Did they refill it with Kubota Super UDT?

At my 7610's 50 hour service the dealer replaced the Super UDT with plain UDT. I have a gratis 5 gallon pail of Super UDT to replace their mistake with. I checked with another local Kubota dealer and they don't replace with Super UDT either. Both dealers said I didn't need Super UDT unless I was operating in below zero temps. The manual says use only Super UDT. [Super UDT is a synthetic lubricant.] I have noticed I can't pick up boulders with the front loader that I previously moved with this same tractor. There is a difference between the two lubricants besides the name.

34 hrs on the tractor at this point. I expect to run it 350-400 hrs a year. No dealer service done yet. But they will look at it at 50 hrs. I added some UDT after I built a hydrolic deflecter on the blower and lost some fluid to fill the cylender and hoses. Did not know there was 2 UDT oils I will have to check which I got. I think it was super UDT. I just picked up what the dealer gave me. Dealer said that it was just hydrolic oil and could be mixed with the cenex oil I run in the other tractor. I plan on shairing implements between the two if the oils are compatable . Thanks for the heads up on the UDT.

I had plans to switch it over to Cenex maxtron THF a semi synthetic hyd oil. They (Cenex) offer warrenty on new tractors for 10 years or 10,000 hrs if you use there synthetic oils, premimum fuel and submit regular oil analisis. Still waiting for word back if a municipal owned tractor is eligable. The offer of warrenty may only apply to farmers. But if it is eligable it's hard to pass that deal up as long as the oil is ok for the tractor. I already use there synthetic blend oil's in every thing else. If I cannot sign it up for the cenex warrenty I will make sure super UDT is installed along with all other oils switched to synthetic except the engine which I plan to run on standard oil until 100 hrs. I am a firm beleiver in synthetic oils.

I also found no problem with the linkage. Dealer says to loose 200-300 rpm under load is normal and lugging will not hurt. I have my doubts. A dino test will tell if it's running rated pto hp@540rpm. Thanks
