Is it normal to have a little lash when going from fwd to reverse on this hst? It is small but sort of like with a worn u joint. It has just has the 300 hr (at 232 hrs) serivice and a complete look through by dealer as the extended warranty is about to expire. It seems more pronounced than on my '88 jd 332. Thoughts?

I think some of that is inheritant in most hydrostatic transmissions. My Simplicity Legacy does have quite a bit more than my Kubota though. I notice it when the rear tires drop in a rut, or something, and can feel hesitation before things move ahead again.

That started happening on my 4300 and the HST seemed to not have the same power (more rpm's or low to do the same work) over the weekend it stopped moving and blew the line going into the cooler, we put that back on and it moved enough to get on trailer. It is building pressure somewhere.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't noticed any power loss but then again I have little opportunity to use it since my property is still quite wet. It just feels like a little slack in the driveline when changing direction. I don't have enough experience to tell if it is normal. If this becomes something bigger after that extended warranty expires I am going to be P***&d
