Have my search down to a B7500 hydro with 302 fel and R4's. Priced at 12,900. A kioti CK20HST with 120 fel and R4's came in at 11,288. I test both of them anbd the Kioti seems to be laid out better and seem to idle much smoother (honest). The B750 only weighs 2100# with the fel and this is important since I have a 1/2 ton truck and a 12 foot trailer rated for 2500#. the kioti weighs in at 2800# so I would need a new tariler. Can anybody eles give me some advice why I would take the B7500 over the CK20?

Also the Kioti has a few features the B7500 does not have 3 point hitch depth control, ability to run mid and rear PTO's at the same time and dual piston power stearing just to name a few. But I am open to kubota's fans advice.

It sounds to me like you've already answered your own question. Just the optin of having the mid pto and the rear would be enough to convince me!

How about the dealers? Do you like one over the other? Is one closer to your location than the other?

Except for the need to get a new trailer, from what you've mentioned it sounds like the Kioti is the winner. Unless, of course, there's a problem with the dealer.

Maybe you should go back and drive each one a little more to get a real feel for them. Couldn't hurt! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good luck! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I am a Kubota fan and owner. Kubota has reputation for reliability; from what I read Kioti is good equipment also. I am not familiar with the two machines you are interested in but going strictly by what you say I would be inclined to go with the Kioti. In most cases a 700# increase in the weight of a tractor would be a plus in traction and possibly strength. A lot of guys here spend a lot of time and effort adding weight to their tractors. The one exception would be when hauling on a trailer where lighter would be better especially in your case with the limit on your trailers load capacity. You could sell your trailer and use the $1600 savings on the tractor purchase to buy a heavier duty trailer.
It seems you have pretty much decided to go with the Kioti. With the dealers being comparable I would probably come to the same decision.

Not to confuse you but I think the trailer shouldn't be your determining point because I think the 12' trailer is too small for either model. You're too small on both the length and gross weight. (just my $.02) If it is rated at 2500# that includes the trailer weight plus the load (tractor). The second point and not insignificant, is that the 12' is too short for you to balance the load. I am pretty sure you will find you have way too much tounge weight when you load either of those machines.
That is not a position you want, very unsafe. Unless you are only going a few blocks and at that accidents are still an issue. Thirdly, does your trailer have brakes? You'll need them too with that puppy behind you.

I have a B7500 with a FEL and a BH and I use every bit of my 16' trailer. I am going to post a picture of mine loaded and at the balance point for my machine as outfitted. Keep in mind your trailer is 4' shorter, I do have the BH on though. I trail mine 110 miles between houses and the 16'er is comfortable to tow.

I guess what I'm saying is buy the tractor you think is best and think of the trailer as secondary. There are a bunch of folks here who are more expert than I am with the trailer size, I'm sure some of them will be helping you out with an opinion also.

Mike

I don't know anything about Kioti equipment or their reliability. It sounds like the better deal if it is as reliable as Kubota and if parts are readily available. I would definitely sell your 12 ft. trailer and buy a longer one. If you ever want to haul a bush hog or similar implement behind your tractor, the extra length is a must.

We plan to leave the Brush Hog Box scraper at the camp. If I need to bring them home I'll drop them in the back of the truck for the trip home I was thinking of a 14' trailer and elec breaks will be included. I will keep the tng weight in mind I know the old rule 10-15% of load should be on the tng

One thing to think of, Is that Kubota for some reason gives the shipping weight, which might not be with wheels, tires and fluids. The two tractors might just weigh in about the same. So its now up to what features you like best and what dealer makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I would have to echo others on the trailer. The 12' is too small for any comfortable and safe towing. I would say even the 14' would probably me marginal. I have a BX1800 with FEL and a 10' 2990lb rated single axle trailer and I can only get that on with the FEL hanging over the back. Even though I can get the balance ok, I do not get good tie down angles and I am running at the max load because the trailer weighs 700 lbs itself and the BX with loader is about 1900. I intend to upgrade to 14-16' for mine as well as dual axle and electric brakes.

I took the ride of a lifetime a few years ago with an overloaded 16' dual axle 5000 lb rated trailer that did not have brakes, and I don't intend to ever repeat that again. Thought it was going to roll my Expedition at the time, but I was lucky and that kind of luck you don't want to rely on being there very often!

So if it were me, I would be heavily weighing the Kioti with the addition of a new 16' trailer for about the same as the Kubota.... Only thing that might make me think twice is that the Kioti is a new model this year. I personally have never looked at the Kiotti's but many seem to give them high praise which usually means something.

Good luck,

I am curious about the "Ride of Your Life" as I have a 16' dual axel trailer with no brakes. Some in fo on your experience might keep me from doing the same thing.

I don't know much about the Kioti's. But from the info it sounds like that would be a good deal. I really like the B7500 though. Double check that weight difference to make sure your making the right comparison. Buy the right tractor then upgrade trailers if you need to. I think your trailer is to small. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
