Can anyone help me with a trailering issue. Apparently I will need to pick up my tractor at a freight dock. I will need to trailer my B7500, FEL, 60" deck and grass catcher to my home. I'm looking into Uhauls 12' x 6' open trailer. Has anyone used this trailer to haul their machines. The fold down ramp is very short and I'm concerned that even with the mower deck in the full up position it will not have enough clearance. Also, is the 6' width enough to handle the 60" deck. The literature does not give the total width of the deck. I have also considered removing the deck when I pick it up but am unsure how difficult and what tools I will need to do it. If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate it!

When I purchased my tractor in the spring from an out of area dealer, the tractor came on a flatbed and like you had to provide means to unload it. I called a local service station and had them come over with a roll off truck for a nominal fee. It worked wonderful..

Great idea, that never occurred to me. Of course eventually I will have to figure out the trailering issue if the machine ever needs service. I think if I mention the purchase of a new trailer and of course a new garage to keep it in (sub rules) after already spending 16k on a high tech wheel barrow I might as well look around for apartments now!!! Women just don't understand our NEEDS!

It took a while but I got the tractor and the barn to put it in. Now my wife cuts the lawn with the Kubota. She not only enjoys using the tractor but it givers her some time away from the screaming kids, diapers, spit up, etc.
Now - how do I get the trailer?

uhaul ramps maybe short but the trailer decks are usually low to the ground and i
dont think it will be an issue. other options are using a floor jack under your hitch
if a 2" reciever type or under tow vehicle axle to raise the front of trailer in order to decrease the ramp angle. My trailer has oversized tongue jack welded on which actually allows me to raise both truck and trailer to change a rear truck tire (wouldn't suggest that unless using a good pintle setup.) dont know about MMM width.

While I'm sure my wife will cut the lawn to "get away" from the kids (age 3 and 7), I am the one who needs a break as I am a stay at home dad for 7 years now. We just got into a house with a four car garage.....unfortunately they are already filled with too many vehicles. I'm already in the process of singing the praises of having two more bays for a car lift/paint building/trailer storage building along with a loft where the kids can live when we get tired of them. Do you think it's okay for a 3 and 7 year old to live ontheir own yet????

I think those suggestions along with a couple of thick planks ought to take care of the problem. But does anyone have a measurement of the 60"deck with the grass catcher installed and not installed?

Jeff -

I have a 2910 with a (different) 60" deck and if I recall
right mine was right around 72 to 73". You can remove
the grass discharge chute, and that should get it down
to where it fill fit on the U-haul. Had mine delivered by
a garage roll-off tow truck for $50, but that was local
(same town). If you're going any distance it could get
expensive.

Short term problem solved! The dealer has found someone who will deliver my tractor on his roll back tow truck for the same amount the trucking company would charge them. The deal was $250.00 for about a 175 mile delivery. Not too bad. Now I just have to figure this out at my leisure for my first service. Thanks for all the info!!
