Hello:

I purchased a new B7500 back in 2003 and it's been running like a champ up until this week. I hooked up my rotarty cutter and engaged the rear pto to do some cutting. When I depress the clutch to disengage, it just wants to grind. I have to turn the key off and shut it down to move it back to neutral. I don't have any problems moving from nuetral to the mid-pto (2500) and back for my finish mowing. Any ideas on where to begin with the trouble shooting? This is my first tractor, but I would like to see if it is something simple that I could fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jon

No expert but sounds like a clutch adjustment.

I check my owners manual and I assume that is just making an adjustment with the linkage in the clutch pedal itself?

Why would I not have the same problem when moving it into the 2500 rpm.

Ok...figured it out. It was a "simple" fix. After a closer look, there are two independent linkage systems for the 2500 and 540 positions. This explains why I was having problems with the one and not the other. A quick couple of turns and problem resolved. Hopefully, I will not have any more minor issues, but if I do, I know where to come first. I'll try anything once to save some $$$. Sure beats hauling it to the local dealership.
