B7500 oil filter

Couldn't get the oil filter off my B7500 when I did my first
50 hour oil change this weekend, so I just changed the oil
and left the old filter on.

Are there any tricks to loosening up the filter?

There's not too much room to grab the filter with the filter wrench, as there's "stuff" all around it. I'm afraid that if I
try too hard, the wrench will slip and I'll end up breaking something.

Snowman, I'm sure you know that you really need to change that oil filter. The only trick to removing it is enough counterclockwise force to unscrew it. Go to your local auto parts store and buy a "Three Legged Oil Filter Wrench" or if there's a Tractor Supply Co. store nearby, theirs is part number 01-18104. Get one with the round legs, not the flat ones like Northern Tool has, and it won't slip.

Thanks for the reply; I'll stop by the auto store and see if they have the three legged wrench.

If I pull the oil filter off without draining the oil pan, will oil come gushing out? Since I've already
put new oil in, if I can now just change the filter, that's what I'd rather do.

I know...it's not the cost...just curious if removing the filter
will cause oil to flow out. My guess is that it would not, as it
sits above the oil pan.

You're guessing right, snowman. You'll only lose what's in the filter, probably a pint or less.
