Has anyone had a problem closing the hood on their B7500 due to interference with the fuel cap? On three hot days, after hard mowing for several hours, my hood would not close because it was hitting the fuel cap. The first time, I was able to close the hood after turning the cap so that one of the flats was exactly parallel to the dash. The other two times, I was only able to close the hood after removing the fuel cap. I can't see anything bent, loose, or otherwise wrong with the hood hinges. I'm guessing that it is a thermal expansion problem. Does anyone have a better fix than removing the fuel cap?

I owned a B7500 for three years and never had a hood/fuel cap interferance problem. Keep looking something has loosened up, check the fuel tank attach points and all the surrounding sheetmetal.

I have had my B-7500 for awhile now and just this year the same thing is happening to mine, and as you reported I can find no problems to cause this. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif If you do find the answer let me know and I will do likewise.

That's a new one to me, over 400 hours on my B7500.

crown and others - Thanks for the replies. At least I know that I am not alone. I will call my service manager as soon as I get the chance, and see if he has seen or heard of this problem. I will let everyone know, if he has a cause or fix. Thanks again for your replies! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Just had this problem a week ago!

I had that problem only after my sister-in-law ran the front end of the tractor into something. She did not tell me this happened and after lifting the hood I had realized someone ran it into something. I took it in to get fixed and the Kubota service manager repaired it in 5 minutes for free, himself. Kinda felt like an idiot seeing how simple the problem was to fix.

Just remove the hood and there are two rear mounting brackets that the hood swivels on. These need to be bent forward enough to move the whole hood slightly forward. This can be done with a pair of pliers and it will solve the problem.

Good Luck

irishl, do you still lend your tractor to your sister-in-law? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You should not feel like an idiot for that. I'll tell you what an idiot look like. Two years ago I bought a new chainsaw. I used it a bit and suddenly it stops. I tried to start it again and again... nothing to do. It was, IMHO, very unusual and brought it back to my dealer. He tried to start it like I did, no success. He looked at the gaz tank, it was empty. He told me: you should try to put some gaz in it, I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.

I felt so idiot. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif This is my personal record of stupidity.

Sometimes... it happens.About your sister-in-law /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif , my wife is like that. When she does something wrong she tells me nothing and waits for me to uncover the truth. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's frustrating. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mine has done this since new 3 1/2 years ago. It only does it when the outside temps are very high and the tractor is hot and even then only once in a while. I'm guessing that being plastic each fuel tank expands and contracts a little differently.
