It arrived Saturday morning, my brand new B7500 and 48" Bush Hog. I managed to put 7 hours on it despite attending my niece's birthday party Saturday afternoon and a family get-together on Sunday for Father's Day. I doubt that I need to go into any details in order to describe how I feel right now./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

One question, though. Is there some kind of trick to check the oil? I used a long pair of pliers to reach the dipstick. I haven't received my owner's manual yet so if this explained in there, I apologize.

Thanks,
Paul

I believe (like my B7300) the side panels pop off once the hood is up. The snaps that hold them are tight (to prevent rattels) but will allow east access to dipstick, injector pump and other stuff. Putting oil IN however will require a funnel with a hose or extension.

Good Luck with the new tractor.

The side panels of the B7500 engine compartment do come off, as well as the nose piece.

The pull off the side, you have to jerk the section at the
front towards you. You then pull the panel out and towards
the front.

The nose piece needs to come off first. Then remove the side cover by pull the front of it out of the retaining clip. One you've done that the side panel will slide forward and you can easily get to the dip stick. Seems like a hassel to check the oil but better to do it than be sorry.

Hassle. . .My old tractor had two 1/4 inch plugs on the oil pan. To check the oil level, you loosen the bottom one - Oil should come out. To add oil, take out the top one and fill thru the valve cover till it comes out of the top one. Over the 51 years of the tractor's life, we wore out the threads on the pan and had to weld in an insert. You always needed a wrench AND you always spilled. Same to check Transaxle and same for Hydraulic Res. Now THATS Hassle!

Just pop the side panel loose at the top. It tilts out enought to reach the dipstick.
No need to remove the side panel or nose.

When the hood is open, you can just pop out the side panel at the top to get to the dipstick. It's got a pin at the back that it will rotate on. I just give it a little slap to close it back up.
