Hi All,

This is my first post and I've searched the forums and was unable to find an answer. I have several downloaded manuals for this 1994 tractor and all seem to indicate that the front wheel gear cases require 0.15 litres for a complete oil change. Similarly 0.5 L for the front differential. I drained the front right wheel gear case and recovered nearly 18 oz of oil. I plan to do both gear cases and the front differential but am stopped in my tracks because of this huge difference in the stated and actual volume recovered. I have no local dealer to talk to and am afraid that adding the 0.15 L (~5 oz., as per my several manuals) may be far to little. So I'm hoping that some experienced owner's with a (newer) model such as mine may have some answers. I'd appreciate any advice/comments that you can offer. Right now I don't feel that I can continue with the oil changes nor even use the tractor with only 0.15 L of oil in the wheel gear case.

The serial # is B7100HD7237.

Thank you in advance and Happy Father's Day to all of you dads!

As I recall I too questioned the quantities for my b7100. Ended up just adding more oil. Didn't cause any problems.

Thanx for the reply Egon. I'm concerned that I'll "blow it up" but I've been using this tractor a few hours/month for several years and haven't noticed any issues related to the gear oil. Even with 18 oz. in the gearbox, no oil was visible at the top fill plug. I couldn't find any sort of vent and am concerned that overfilling may cause some sort of rupture/leak? The case is pretty large and it seems that 5 oz. would be a drop in the bucket. Not sure what to do.

There is no vent. It runs as a pressurized unit so no water gets in.

If'n my recall is good I probably filled to where I could see oil.
