Does anybody have any editorial regarding little ag tires for my b7100? I've run the turf tires on it so far, and they're pretty useless when wet, but overall okay.

It's time for some new ones as these have gashes and plugs and dry rot and everything else....just wondering if I should try the ags for a bit.....mainly just playing around pastures.....no real manicuring work being done.

Thanks!

I had the ag tires on my B7100 because that was what I preferred for my kind of tractor work. But I guess you know that if you change from turf tires to ag tires, you'll need to change wheels also.

Yeah, Bird, I have been informed about the wheels as well. I was kinda hoping to find some used out there in a dealer yard with a big sign on them that says..."FREE".

Yeah, right, huh?!?

I have a B7800 that is two years old. When I bought it I told the salesman (who had been in the business for over 40 years) that I wanted Ag tires. His reply was “Are you sure? We usually only sell Ag tires to farmers and orchard growers.” Turns out I was using the tractor to take care of about 12 acres of trees I had just planted.

What I was trying to say is that your use of the tractor should dictate what you use for tires. I have some grassy areas next to my pond. If I turn sharp with the Ag tires it leaves marks. If you are only doing pasture work I would think the Ag tires would be great. They sure do dig in when you need them to.

If you switch for turf to Ag's. You may have to replace the rims also. My B7100 had turf tires. Worked great for all my projects. But never had any ground engaging attachments.

I have a 28 year old 4wd B6100. When my Father-in-law gave it to me, he made me promise to put "wider" tires on it because he said it was "tippy" with the ags.

So I got some turf tires/wheels for the rear from the dealer's lot. They were brand new - pulled off of a tractor that someone wanted bar/turfs on. Turned out to be the same rolling circumference as the ags so they would work. As I recall, I gave about $300 for them, including loading them with WSW fluid.

I now have turfs on the rear and ags on the front. Keeps me from tearing up the ground from spinning the rears, but if I need the traction, I just get some weight in the FEL, engage the 4wd and get the traction from the front tires.

Best of both worlds.

Still have the old rear ags & rims. Where are you located podzie?

Located in Spring, Texas. Can't even guess how much shipping would be!

Really the only reason I was thinking about changing was b/c I bought a dirt scoop and wanted more traction. I'm not concerned about marks caused by the ag tires.

Shipping from here would probably be pretty spendy....

Check out your local Kubota dealers. When I got mine we looked through a bunch of brand new tires on rims. Dealer said that lots of times buyers want tires other than what Kubota ships so they always have the "extras".

Worth a shot...
