Hey Guys,
My B7100 fires up and gets to idle just as expected, but as soon as I put it under much of a load (even such as climbing a hill), it acts like it's too much. It starts to bog down and billow black exhaust. Take the load off, and it idles right back up. On flat land, it drives around just fine. High and low gear. On any kind of hill, I'll have to put it in low just to get it to not die.

Any ideas where I should look first? New diesel, filter looks good. Any help would be appreciated.

Remove the Air filters, see if it runs better... if so, Replace them...
It sounds as if it is getting enough fuel, But not enough Air.

Properly check the fuel and air delivery systems.

Don't know how to check but is the governor working?:(

When I had low power issues it turned out to be an old fuel filter. There was no smoke issue, so it might not be the solution for you.

Air and fuel delivery looks fine. It really seems like it's too much load, bogging down.

Take off the parking brake.

At least that is what I always forget on my B7100.

You know... it nearly feels like the brake is on.

I should mention, and this might be normal....
When I have the clutch in, it revs higher than when I let the clutch out, even at a stand still. I imagine that just powering the HST pump is a slight load, so loosing 50RPM isn't a big deal.

But, if I try to go any grade at all in High Gear, it's too much and kills it. It just barely chugs along up the driveway in Low Gear.

Hate to mention this but you do back off on the hydro pedal when the engine slows?:)

We just had another hydro in with loss of power complaints and smoke. We backed off the brakes and everything is fine! The brakes don't get used very often with the hydro's and they can stick with time.

Hello Art! Did you find that the brakes were actually stuck on, or just out of adjustment? Is it an easy fix?
