i built a front end loader from scratch and i am on the final steps of just getting the parts to power it I need to know who makes aftermarket pumps for it or the psi and gpm. and i also would like to know where to get the shaft that drives the pump or what it looks like so i can make one. thanks for your time guys

I have a factory installed FEL on my B7100 and it just uses the pump on the side of the engine - the same one that works the 3 point hitch. Are you sure you can't just get a tapping block and do that , too?

Ohio, I'd post the details of your setup and I'm sure someone here can answer your concerns about sump capacity, hydraulic pump flow rate, etc. We also have some dealers here and many Kubota owners of all years and models, including some with home built loaders.

Kubotabooks.com has the manual for the b219 loader which is what is on my 70's b7100. It shows a (bad) picture of ,and part numbers for, the 'chain coupler assembly' which is how they attach a pump to the front pto to drive the loader. I don't know if the parts are still available through a dealer or not.

Mine is a 1983 B6200. I think they are similar units. Mine has onboard hydraulic pump for the hydrostatic drive and 3 pt hitch. It is 4 gpm. If yours has the block for tapping already, use it. That's what I'm going to do when I build my loader.

If you have a manual there should be a page showing the auxiliary hydraulic block.

I have a pdf of the manual for B6200/7200. If you want it, send me a p.m. with your email address and I'll email it to you. It explains it pretty well.

Edit: more info that might help:

The additional fluid is just filling the lines and cylinders that you plumb to the system. Your tractor transmission has its own reservoir and you continue to use that but with the additional runs, it will take more fluid. If you want my manual that's fine, but if you don't have a manual and you can't find on for free online, it would probably pay to buy the owners manual. For instance if it saves you from having to buy a external pump, it paid for itself. The return lines go back to the transmission but I haven't got it all figured out yet myself but others probably have already completed what you and I are both going to do and should be able to help.

I'm glad you brought this up because I have to do it after I build my fel. So researching it a bit to help you and me.

Here's a thread that has some pictures of someone adding power steering to a B7100, the point being that you would tap into the hydraulic block in a similar fashion but plumb it to your fel of course.

Edit: oops, wrong thread but that one may help you too. here's the one that has the pics:

Also here's a diagram attached that another member posted for adding remote power after the fel but I found it useful just to see how the fel hydraulics fit into the picture. (I'ld give credit to the author but I can't remember which thread I found it in.) I think page one of the diagram is the most helpful for what you and I are doing at this point. Note that you need a fel control valve with power beyond and plumb the power beyond back to the auxiliary block to power the 3pt lift. Hope this helps.

well cant upload sorry guys my camera is broke but my loader works fine it is just slow i have it plumed it is just when i raise the arms it almost drys the gear case out its barley touches the dip stick. and it is slow i want to speed the reaction of raising it and lowering it and also not wearing out my pump for the three point. so i thought i would put a pump on it. so i was trying to figure out the front pto and the, pump power needed for the job. and my tractor is gear not hst

Uh, somethings not right here. You say that you drop the fluid level nearly off of the dip stick. Are you using double acting cylinders or single acting depending on Gravity to get your loader down. With double acting, the volume on the "other" side of the piston should act as an additional reservoir. Just asking, didn't sound right when I read it.

Ohio,

Your tractor doesn't need to be HST to have a useable internal hydraulic pump for your loader. The fluid level is low because you have more volume to fill now that you have all the runs to the loader components. Just top it off to make up for it. The pump on the 3point won't wear out because you put a loader on it. I believe it is pumping all the time regardless of whether you are lowering or raising the 3pt.

I don't know what is causing it to be slow, though. It might be you don't have enough fluid and/or have air in the system due to low fluid levels at the pump. But it could just be you have large cylinders. What size are you using?

If you get an external pump with higher capacity, like go from 4gpm to 10 gpm or more, then it would operate more quickly but I recommend you try adding fluid to your system first and see if it improves.
